I think Man Utd could upgrade on Lukaku, but he is defintiely good enough for the top level. He's better than the likes of Mandzukic, Firmino, Benzema etc. who all play up front for top European teams.

Dunno whether Terry was playing that day, but didn't Lukaku once singlehandedly knock Chelsea out of the FA Cup for Everton? I actually remember on Ja606 that day all the Chelsea fans were piiissed at Mourinho for selling Lukaku and saying what a huge mistake it was to let him leave. Given that, are you sure you're not just putting Lukaku down because you're bitter he plays for United?

That's not a bad thing though. More points are there to be won vs non top 6 teams in a season than vs top 6 teams obviously, and a top striker who can score regularly against them can win you the league even if he doesn't score much against the top 6 teams. Those games against the top 6 teams are normally tight anyway and decided by the odd goal, you don't even need a striker to be scoring tons in those games honestly.

Costa was similar in that only scored against the less good teams generally and he was key in winning us two league titles with those goals.
