thing with a 433 is that Lucas and Son, so called wingers, do not play wide

I don't disagree, I just also don't see Spurs getting both Lo Celso AND Ceballos. If the £35m saved allows for a decent RB to be bought, I'd say it's the better option, especially since Ceballos is still a very good prospect with similar potential to Lo Celso.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Is he though? Ceballos does not have the same attacking threat that Lo Celso has. He's also as much as admitted he doesn't want to leave Real Madrid and if he does he would look for a way back in the future. I'd much rather Lo Celso in our team who would compliment Ndombele more than Ceballos.

If we bring in attacking full backs and our fantasy transfers come through then i'd be interested in seeing a midfield three of;

Lo Celso - Dier - Ndombele

Dier would allow the option to sit behind in a back 3 when our full backs move forward and move into DM when they are back. Both Lo Celso and Ndombele are good in possession and bring drive.

Don't get me wrong, I would want to see Lo Celso ahead of Ceballos, all things being equal. But if bringing Lo Celso in costs Spurs the £££ needed to improve other priority areas - i.e. right back - then I'm less sure.

I would personally rather see Winks instead of Dier in that midfield you've suggested, just because of the speed of transition it would bring to Spurs. Dier is ponderous and Spurs already have issues with the speed of their buildup.

Dier is 100% better suited to play at centre half and I hope Pochettino forces him to move back even if the player gets stroppy about it.

I should add that for me, the ideal would be to bring in both Ceballos AND Lo Celso, because when Eriksen leaves Spurs will need the added depth of creative midfielders. I just don't see that being likely since that would mean Spurs spending £150m on midfield alone, which is welcome but seems unrealistic when there's other areas that need work and the coffers aren't bottomless.

Ceballos/Lo Celos, a forward, a winger and a RB would make a very good window.

both Ceballos and Lo Celso coming in would mean us not strengthening in the other areas

Ceballos and Lo Celso coming in doesn't rule out improvement in other areas... the money generate or not generate from player sales will.

Lucas has been an orthodox right winger for his entire career until Pochettino decided to play him as a striker last season. And Son is arguably best playing wide left and cutting inside. And it would work fine playing an inverted winger on the left since that's where Spurs DO have a decent attacking full back on the overlap.

You'd like to think that if we paid anywhere near £35m for Ceballos that we'd get nearer £80m back for Eriksen which could almost cover Ndombele.

getting the feeling that Madrid are dangling ceballos as a carrot with Eriksen going in the opposite direction, Levy has some deal in mind

Clubs aren’t exactly queuing round the block to buy our deadwood.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They would be if Daniel Levy wasn't demanding an arm and a leg for a player with one working leg.

Dani Ceballos, Mariano Diaz and £20m for Eriksen please.

Put the £20m towards Lo Celso and a right back for a combined £80m. Which would leave our net spend with Ndombele signing at around £120m.

Recoup what we can through player sales like Janssen, Trippier, Aurier, Edwards etc.

Simples?

Pogba being heavily linked with Juventus. You would think this opens the door for Eriksen to Real Madrid.

Can’t see him going back to Juventus tbh

You'd have said the same with United paying £80m to get him back. Ideally for us he goes Juve and not Madrid

I don't really see who can afford him. Despite being generally pretty gash, there's still no way United sell him for under £100m, and I don't think Real will pay that, nor do I think Juve can afford that.

What makes you think they can't afford him? They have made about £50m so far in net spend. That's with De Ligt and Pogba they could be looking at a net spend this summer of £140m which isn't beyond their finances and that's before any further sales should they happen.

Juve don’t need him and Madrid really want him.

Eriksen will end up in Madrid regardless to Pogba situation.

Only Juventus know whether they need or really want him but we're none the wiser so interesting to see what happens with that move.

They have Rabiot, Can, pjanic, Ramsey, Khedira, Matuidi, Bentancur all play where Pogba would.

Can not see him going there at all but we’ll see

posted on 8/7/19

If they manage to land Pogba I think they would be more than happy to sell the likes of Khedira and Matuidi
