man city no longer a big club. official.

I see Boris has got his tampon string twisted again.

If (and it's a HUGE if) city were to fluke their way to a CL win then it would be the most meaningless & tainted trophy win of all time.

Constantly flouting FFP rules, overinflated sponsorship deals and various other methods of financial impropriety mean you will have cheated the rightful winners out of a trophy.

City are far bigger than Liverpool right now. If you want to go back to the 20th century then Liverpool were bigger. But you cannot keep looking backwards.

It's in their DNA.

However, KPMG make clear their figures were compiled five months ago on January 1 and do not include the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has hit every football club. Next year's valuations will take this impact into account.

They've also not included the fact that Liverpool have failed dismally in every cup competition this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or that Man City are a massive 25 points behind Liverpool and still can't win the CL. 👍🏻
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've got more chance than you this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, we're out, but that doesn't mean you will win it. 👍🏻
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for explaining that.

Do you think you would have won a PL title by now if VAR had been brought in back in the 90's?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fack off! 🤣

Do you think you'd still be in league 2 if it wasn't for the oil money? I do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering we finished 7th in the Premier League just before the takeover I'd say no.

Thanks for asking though, always nice to hear from the #Tainteds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You have the audacity to call us tainted when you have literally bought every cup in sight and have been banned from Europe for breaches. Better win the CL this season, because you ain't winning it next season. 🤣👍🏻

I'm struggling to understand how City are bigger than Liverpool?

As much as i dislike them, they have a vastly superior honours list as well as history both domestic and continental.

If you're going by current success and buying power, then yes City have been more successful domestically at least. However, they are still not bigger than Liverpool.

full report is here:
https://footballbenchmark.com/documents/files/KPMG%20The%20European%20Elite%202020_Online%20version_.pdf

includes a chart showing trend for last 4 years, based on that, we're rising quickly.
so are city and spurs, although that doesn't appear to take into account yet spurs stalling on-field this season, I expect their chart to plateau. I think their big %age increase this year is down to the new stadium revenue, so they should level off quickly. and then start dropping if on-field performances don't improve.
also expect city to level out a lot more if the two year CL ban gets upheld, but with their dodgy owners willing to break all the rules, i'm sure they'll find some way to artificially inflate revenue again.
psg also rising quickly, though a lot of that can, again, be put down to artificially inflated sponsorship deals, (what is it with middle eastern owners not be able to stick to the same rules as everyone else)
take that, along with the fact that there's only so much support a French club can attract (only joking ) , and i'd expect them to level off pretty quickly too.

I cant believe the utter rubbish that this thread is.

ffs man city were never a big club, ever. how the hell could you get it that far wrong.

lovely. so can we knock it down for apartments to actually get the money out of it?

you so have now great facilities but they are fixed assets and to a football club that's nice but it's not commercial revenue globally nor is it playing staff is it?

well done though, it is a great facility from where you were at even if the designer was an arsenal fan who made it look like a toilet.
