The old COVID tracking is a funny one too. They claim it tracks your every movement and gathers all your personal information etc. First of all even if it did, who cares about your trips to Asda? Secondly if they had any amount of intelligence they would know the app doesn't have access to your information. There is a key stored on your phone and a key stored on a server. These people don't have the ability to research things themselves but take information that some nutjob tells them as gospel, then spread it around to other like minded people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They actually have all your information on a Windows 97 Excel spreadsheet.

Filtered.

Yeah, I imagine they could use filters on in via the data tab.

If you think this is a conspiracy, not people here. Then you deserve to catch it.

Or the wannabe hard men not wearing mask, chest out being idiots inside and out. Anyone giving shop/restraint staff grief. Anyone who thinks this is a way for the government to enslave the poor. Idiots.

Its all just confirmation bias. People don't want to give anything up for something they don't think will affect them, no matter the impact it could have on others.

Therefore, if they read or hear something that sides with them, they will just go along with it. Its what populist leaders do, say what they think their base will want to hear and is exactly what Trump is doing with the virus now.

A tweet from Piers Morgan's son, Spencer, came along on my timeline this morning that perfectly exemplified this.

It was a screenshot of the Daily Mail's front page in which they've published a story saying some scientists are now claiming lockdown could actually kill more people than carrying on as if the virus never happened. He then tweeted something along the lines of "Glad to see the scientists have finally caught up, I've only been saying this for 6 months".

I think the problem is a lot of people think they're a lot smarter than they actually are.

Has anyone here tested positive for the virus? My parents and I did last week and we are in quarantine until next Tuesday at least. I’ve only lost my taste and smell which is a relief compared to what others have suffered.

There's a road called 'Ffordd 6G' (6G Road) just down the road from where I'm working now. I reckon when people drive along there is takes you to a different dimension but you don't know it's happened.

Are all conspiracy theories, conspiracy theories?

There was one I read which was talking about the subtle changes in what the govt was doing that was giving a different message to what they were saying.

So when covid began we had the yellow notice with red chevrons. Which changed to yellow with green chevrons and a change of message.

Now to most, including me this went unnoticed but according to some it was a clear GO from a clear STOP and we subsequently had Bournemouth beach and more people going out.

I don’t think those kind of things are conspiracies though. Just government behavioural ‘experts’ trying to manage the situation. Terribly of course.

My step-daughter got it. She didn't know she had it until the home she was working in tested everyone. She had no symptoms although, in hindsight, she thought she was more tired than usual but put that down to working long hours and a sniffle.

I'm proud to say this is the only social media I use.

Conspiracy theorists are grate. Absolute lunatics but good entertainment

One reason I always go easy on conspiracy theorists is that, one day, they'll get one right, even if it's sheer luck. But you're right also in that there are very sane reasons to be dubious of the way the government have handled this and the advantages they may seek to take from it. For instance, will the health service that emerges from the crisis be the same one that we had at the start?

I've sent away for a test. Developed symptoms on Monday and have got gradually worse as the weak has went on. Smell is gone but that happens to me when I have a cold anyhow, as my sinuses are useless. Got a cough and breathing is difficult at night. This may just be because of the mucus caused by a cold. Sore head keeps reoccuring also. Again this could be the result of a cold. However thought I should get tested considering my son is going into school and could potentially in fact his whole class. Although I'm probably too late for that, if positive. It's nothing at all to do with the company announcement last week that I will receive 80% for the two weeks I would be isolating.

Good idea TOOR, I did the same straight away with my parents because they developed a fever and coughs.

My mum got out of it well but my dad really went through a lot of pain in the first few days, to the point I had to call 111 for assistance. Thankfully for me I've just lost my taste buds and smell, no fever or pain as usual for people my age. We also think my little sister brought it into the house from her school too since a lot of her mates ended up with the sniffles.

Don't get me wrong there are some looks out there

But I do feel that sometimes the CT tag can be used to stifle elements of an argument that may have some truth to it.

The psychology element is something that interests me because I know that a lot of money is spent to "programme" people. This maybe simple things like how supermarkets set up or how likes of mcdonald's used it to have colours to attract people into their restaurants and play certain music so they don't stay too long after purchasing.

I worked in sales for a bank once and we used to have a guy flying in on his private jet to train us and gave some insight to how it works. Even simple things like how you can get people to call you what you want. He used james bond as the example. So "my name is bond, james bond" is deliberate and why everyone calls him me bond. People will remember and call you whichever you say twice. In sales we would say the first name twice as we wanted to build a certain relationship with the customer. It worked

Anyway I digress

mother in law genuinely believes in the Lizard people...

a perfectly reasonably intelligent woman with no extreme views and a wonderful nan to my kids... BUT she also thinks lizard people live amongst us, dress as humans and go home at night and take off the human costume and are actual lizards!!!

Seriously...WTF!??

I’m fully signed up to the idea that the lockdowns etc might end up killing more people long term than the actual virus. I know someone who is very ill and they’re very very keen for the UK government to get the message out there for sick people not to be scared to make appointments etc.

And I agree in principle with at least some of the tenets of the Barrington declaration - even though I’m not sure how it would necessarily work in regards to shielding everyone who was vulnerable and whether that is one of those tough choices that might lead to darker paths down the line in regards to who is left behind.

But these nut jobs are not willing to ‘give’ in any of their beliefs and the last few months has ‘opened’ their minds to all sorts of persuasion. The Qanon thing is pure madness.

One common theory I've heard is that the Russian's have man made the disease. That wouldn't surprise me tbh.

I think all conspiracy theories are wrong unless there is only one person involved.
Any more and it's no longer a secret.

Been looking into Qannon recently, its a fascinating concept if it was a fictional story, but liafs of people seem to have been sucked in by it.

Thing is the "great awakenimg", by their own timeliness, should be happening right now but we're still waiting.
