Who's he calling hypocrites?

He stated it was for R&R in his post match interview at Ibrox.
He took an injured player on an 8hr flight when he can't train.
First day there the players and himself are pictured at the pool with pints.
Injured player catches Covid and forces half the squad to isolate.

Celtic FURLOUGH their u18 squad a few days after the return from Dubai.

Who are the hypocrites?

It's very much as it's been called as it is seen by everyone apart from the Celtic hierarchy.

A club like no other. 😳

Is there an agenda against your club over this Dubai trip?

posted on 18/1/21

And exactly under what clause in his contract would anyone suggest he gets summarily dismissed?

Fwck me, we all want rid of him quick enough but he's a spokesperson for the club as part of his role. You can't just up and sack him for embarrassing himself.

Mate, it doesn't matter next to fck all what I think! As you know I was one of the most vocal against him soon as BR left. I've not seen the whole thing so maybe shouldn't comment. I've no doubt huge measures were taken on the trip that wouldn't normally so he's probably a bit peeved? Then its the first time to question him so they do. He just needed to politely refer them to PL's scheite and stay calm but it's Lenny and he's been staying calm for too long and he's under pressure. Way it is.

While you're right to have good chortle at our demise, getting angry is just aping Lenny and gets nowhere.

To say "nobody has COVID" when 2 players have it is strange.

To say that isolation rules are ridiculous and politically motivated rather than in public health interests is dangerous. Celtic as a club are better than this, the whole reason for Lawwell's apology last week was to try and end the PR nightmare the Dubai thing had become. For Lennon to do this today must have his employers livid.

Although you do wonder where the media and PR team were before he faced the media today. It's his first presser since Dubai and given his nature it always had the potential to be explosive. You would expect someone sat him down beforehand and walked through it with him to avoid the aftermath. I'd argue Lennon's comments today are the most damaging about this whole affair.

I think his statement today brings the game into disrepute, because he’s accusing folk of all sorts

He’s not just embarrassing himself, he’s embarrassing your club and embarrassing the Scottish game through trying to continue defending this farce

Also, considering your chief exec climbed down from his high horse and came to the conclusion that trying to double down on this issue was clearly the wrong thing to do...as it was pissing almost everyone off, even folk that don’t follow football...then I think there is plenty of ground for for the man to be told to pack his bags and go.

I can’t believe how angry an article this is from a rangers fan about a Celtic manager that nigh on every Celtic fan wants rid of!

I would imagine that Celtic have a set of policies that all employees are to adhere to.

It would not be uncommon to have a Media/Social Media Policy which may contain wording along the lines of;

Employees must;

Avoid (social) media communications that might be (mis)construed in a way that could damage our business reputation, directly or indirectly

Employees are responsible for protecting the Company’s business reputation.

Breach of this policy at any time (within working hours or not) may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.

That kinda thing.........

Yeah like every player has a substance abuse clause but it depends which player and when.

posted on 18/1/21

I dont think Lennons rant today really enhanced Celtics reputation.

Particularly as it seems to directly undermine the apology made by the Chief Exec a few days ago.

And, to be fair, nobody on here knows what scheite has been going on in the background. It would surprise none of us if the SFA, ScotGov and all the rest are beep, beeping on who said what, when in relation to the trip in an attempt to slopey shoulder the thing.

The oddest part for me was when they backdated isolation.

Normally, they give at least a day or twos warning when there’s a change-but this is the only time I can remember when they backdated them advice to isolate.

I get there is a degree of discretion as to how far you take these things and when.

But Lennon is either bang on message with Lawell and therefore saying - aye see that apology the other day - well it wasnt really and apology to anyone else other than celtic fans...... or he is undermining the Chief Exec with his statements today.

And in the case of the latter I would imagine the club would take a real dim view of it and at least subject him to disciplinary action.

Now dont get me wrong - I dont mind either way if Lenny gets in trouble for this from the club. I would just be amazed if he doesnt.

That would seem like the club are completely endorsing his statements today and they are keen to have a full on public fall out with the media and the government.

Either way it keeps things interesting.....

Its not just that though, is it?

It is stoking a sensitive situation at the moment with politics and football (cue the conspiracy theorists) plus there is the publics view on Celtic as a club.

Celtic have very carefully cultivated the whole 'Celtic Family' culture over recent years and milked it for what it is worth.

But judging from what I have read on here most celtic fans are scunnered over Dubai. And Lennons outburst just rubs salt into the wounds.

And that is your main customer base as a business.
