You'll do well to find many Celtic fans that don't feel embarrassed by his comments today.
He's blamed everyone but himself and the board, also being just 5 days after Lawwell's apology or attempt at one.
I had no issue with them going to Dubai for a training camp, there's currently 5 clubs over there just now doing the same, not to mention the British Athletics team.
What i had an issue with was when the situation was getting worse in late December and on the back of an OF game, it should at least have been re-visited but at most, someone should have been there to ensure all players trained, sat at the pool, went to dinner and then back to the rooms.
No caught bevying in the afternoon, no dancing on the way to the pool, no large groups watching fitbaw on the tele.... yes, no fun but sadly that's what had to happen and in the end we came back with the ultimate of fluck ups in terms of a positive case and then 16 self isolating.
16 did seem excessive but for all we know Julien was close to the players and coaching staff on more than 1 occasion for more than 15 minutes but going by Lennon's comments he feels that's the part that's been politicised, a punishment for going basically.
I've no idea if that's the case, wouldn't put it past the SG going down that route but i wouldn't blame them either, we deserved it for sheer stupidity.
This is the end of the road for Lennon, he knows it, he's coming out swinging.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty much agree with everything other than the possibility that the number isolating was excessive as one of them has actually tested positive.
This action has actually protected the squad from potentially worse damage. Should be praising that decision not criticising it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The point i'm making is 15 out of the 16 didn't have it so it does seem excessive. If they had all been closed contacts for more than 15 minutes then that should mean on Thursday, we'd have had at least 7 or 8 positive tests.
We didn't, we had 1 and i think that's where Lennon is annoyed.

And exactly under what clause in his contract would anyone suggest he gets summarily dismissed?
Fwck me, we all want rid of him quick enough but he's a spokesperson for the club as part of his role. You can't just up and sack him for embarrassing himself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s not just a spokesperson is he? He said himself it was his decision to go ahead with the trip.
Do we know yet who the second player is? Or is it still a wee secret
It was rather strange to backdate the isolation arrival time frame.
I believe the scottish government took this position as a number of people who had previously arrived back had then tested positive.
With all other travel corridor changes these were done and not backdated due to the levels found in those particular areas but not as yet (or known to have) transmitted to scotland.
Not sure how it would work if you had been back a week then had to start isolating having been showing off your suntan to folk for a quite a while.
As for Neil Lennon he needs to chill and talk to someone he appears to have the world on his shoulders.
Its not doing his health any good.
Watching his full conference now and he said that the protocols for the self isolating criteria differ to what the protocols were before they left.
They changed it to 2 seats in front and behind rather than 2 metre's.
So if they have changed it all of a sudden for that, then i can see his argument on that basis.
Still doesn't change the fact it could have been avoided if we hadn't went.

Wouldn’t you bears prefer he kept his job though as opposed to us going out and getting someone better like maybe last time?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would love him to stay in place and long may it continue.
What he can't be allowed to do is use a platform to say that being forced to self isolate was in his words ludicrous.
That's just dangerous because although as I have said above the majority of Celtic fans aren't listening to him there are still some who do
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dafties will be dafties
He’s just another dafty and if anyone takes him seriously they are best ignored.
I happen to believe that a lot of the rules regarding self isolation are ludicrous. I also believe that football in particular is singled out by U.K. governments.
I look at the way Australia is dealing with the tennis players who went across and ask myself “if you’re that serious about the virus just what the actual fwck were you thinking when you signed it off?”
It’s now a joke tournament and were it not based on such a tragic occurrence would be laughable.
Down here we have the EPL boasting that the number of positive cases in their league has dropped form 34 to 16 this week. New cases that is. Well done them.
The whole thing is a joke and were it not for the implications of the financial hit we wouldn’t be entertaining allowing football to continue.
I’ll qualify that this isn’t some plea to cancel and null and void but it is what it is.
Nobody can meet up with anyone outside their bubble, leave their local area, go to work unless absolutely necessary; yet footballers can travel the length and breadth of the country and interact with hundreds of different people during this time.
Mental when you think about it.
Lennon's nonsense should not be entertained.

Wonder if there was some doubt about it? Not sure what the deciding indicator is so can't speculate even!
No idea what the test protocols are? I know early days the gov were not accepting multiple subsequent -ve results wiping out a +ve despite there being a known false positive rate that statistically EVERY team must have encountered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've seen you mention this point before mate.
I have to agree. I'm astonished at the very low level of positive tests at a lot of clubs. Given the level of false positives, its astonishing that some clubs have little or no positives.
As for Lenny. He needs to be sacked immediately. He comments about isolation being ludicrous is a shooting offence never mind a sacking one.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
A positive test conducted on the testing machines needs to be confirmed by a lab test which then eliminates most if it all false positives.
Depending on which testing machines are used and you are using trained medical staff the accuracy is very high (95-97% depending on machine) if you test positive on the machine sample has to be sent to lab to be confirmed where the accuracy is above 99%
So for a false positive to get through would be very very difficult.

Yes they've definitely changed, Lennon believes it's been changed as a punishment for them going.
As i said, i'm not sure it did prevent a bigger problem. To me it sounds like if followed, the player positive would have been self isolating as he was obviously a close contact but the other 14 were all negative backing up his claim it seems ludicrous.
But like i said, this will rumble on and more facts will come out in next few days.

What he can't be allowed to do is use a platform to say that being forced to self isolate was in his words ludicrous.
That's just dangerous because although as I have said above the majority of Celtic fans aren't listening to him there are still some who do

Only a matter of time now.

These type of rash, illogical outbursts were typical of his end days at Hibs.
I think all we are seeing here is a condemned man lashing out at all and sundry.
Pleasing.

Totally agree.
Wouldn’t you bears prefer he kept his job though as opposed to us going out and getting someone better like maybe last time?

Watching his full conference now and he said that the protocols for the self isolating criteria differ to what the protocols were before they left.
They changed it to 2 seats in front and behind rather than 2 metre's.
So if they have changed it all of a sudden for that, then i can see his argument on that basis.
Still doesn't change the fact it could have been avoided if we hadn't went.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And more importantly has saved them from a potentially bigger problem if the player hadn't isolated.
Also is he even correct that those protocols changed and even if they did was it for a perfectly valid reason which again on the face of it has potentially saved them from much worse
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes they've definitely changed, Lennon believes it's been changed as a punishment for them going.
