Leeds Legend doesn't even begin to describe Peter - what a player, gave me so many memories along with the rest of the Pantheon of Don's Greats.

Feel quite choked - Peter thank you and God bless.

A very likeable fellow as I remember him. I always feared him being allowed time to strike the ball on his right peg. A devastating shot, and very sad news of his death of course. So many of his team mates have passed on in recent times.

R.I.P. Peter.

Another Leeds legend sadly no longer with us.
All kids of a certain generation wanted to hit a ball like Peter Lorimer.

RIP

Apparently he was told to practice shooting into an empty net when training so he wouldn't injure the goalkeepers.

"He hit it like Lorimer" was part of the football jargon in my youth even though he'd retired.

Peter Lorimer was the epitome of a dynamic player and was at the very heart of the Leeds team. The whole of the great 70s Leeds side were household names – and still are, among football fans of a certain age – but when mention of that legendary team comes up in conversation, Lorimer's name is generally among the first, along with Bremner and Hunter. Lorimer was a modest man and the epitome of a team player and no member of that great team gave us more amazing memories – and goals – than Peter Lorimer.
Best wishes to all his family.
Rest in Peace Peter.

Another hero we have to say goodbye to.

Strange and sad that so many of that legendary Leeds team have died at a relatively young age.

Just to echo Lorralorimer's post and fine sentiments.

Many of the recently deceased Leeds players were not just part of a great team I watched but so many of them I saw playing at the start of their careers as youth players...which means their passing is hard to bear for me personally.

So many great memories of Peter Lorimer's spectacular shooting and goals....

RIP Peter

He’ll be banging a ball at those Pearly Gates!

As Chelsea fan from that era, you can imagine there were few Leeds players I liked or respected. Its testimony to Lorimer that despite that thought he was a great player and I respected him immensely.

Leeds legends departing leaves a big hole in many of our youthful memories. Rest in Peace Peter and so many grateful thanks for the memories you gave to Leeds fans.

I loved the rivalry between Chelsea and Leeds in those days and Peter Lorimer was a huge part of that.

The man with a shot like a bolt of lightning!

Rest in Peace sir!

Loved him as a player, not so enamoured by the support he showed to Ken Bates when he was owner.

Part of what made Leeds still the name that they are today.

Great that he experienced so much success with us and also for his country, it's not many that can say they scored for Scotland in a World Cup.

Always came across as a generous man and can only offer best wishes to his friends and family at this time and really hope that the club is able to organise something special as tribute to these lost players when situation allows.

There was planned a friendly v Bayern Munich, one wonders if that might yet happen, or how about a friendly v Newell's Old Boys, with some guest players for both sides.

As a very young nipper who just got into being a leeds fan at age of 3 or 4 in late 60,s my heros was pete and eddie. loved them both equally and have met and chatted with both on several occassions and found both to be very humble and pleasant like all of that great team i have met. Was not impressed with pete with bates either but does not take away from my admiration as a player and person.
Rest in peace Peter, you were more than just a hero
