Trippier in, Grealish out?

Shaw should start. Best lB we have.

Sterling could do a Shearer in 96 and find form in spectacular fashion.

If that turns out to be true... Jesus fecking Christ.

Why would you not play Shaw or Chilwell in their position? Assuming both are fit and ready. Shaw better for me. But wow if he does that I give up (and I don’t have much interest in England anyway).

Sterling is average and not in form so wouldn’t play him either, myself

I get the need for Sterling or Rashford as they’re the only ones that naturally try and get ahead of Kane when he drops deep.

Trippier, I get he wants him if he’s his set piece taker but just play him ahead of the RB if that’s the case.

You have 2 left backs in the squad, one just won the CL and one was in the leagues team of the year. Pick one.

If he doesn’t then he should be sacked before the first whistle

Mings is a worry for me. Playing Trippier ahead of Shaw/Chilwell sounds odd but it MAY work!

posted on 13/6/21

Yeah he might just be having a right footer to cover the inside better seeing as Mings is so shiyte.

Isn't Mount quite good at set pieces anyway?... Decision seems ludicrous. Hopefully just social media nonsense.

I seem to be in a minority of one who thinks Southgate is a reasonably good manager.
Also I liked his statement during the week about not booing taking the knee etc.
Everyone seems to think that unless he chooses the team they think is best, then he's rubbish.

I get why he's picked trippier but don't get why he's picked him at left back.

Dropping Grealish does seem to be a dumb move imo. He's probably relying on Sterling's pace, but he's been pretty poor of late.

How did it get to this, Tyrone mings in an England shirt?

Hopefully Maguire is fit by the end of the group stage.

absolute poverty back 6 and 2 dms, didnt expect any better from clowngate, decent front 4 though. hopefully we dont play as negatively as that lineup looks.

Can't believe Southgate took 4 left backs to the Euros. 4 being:

Trippier
Chilwell
Shaw
Saka

That leaked lineup can't be right—there's only 2 right backs in it.

its coming home anyway

Everyone seems to know the score
They've seen it all before
They just know
They're so sure
That England's gonna throw it away
Gonna blow it away
But I know they can play
'Cause I remember
Three Lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
Thirty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming

Hopefully whoever leaked it is playing games

You've got to hold and give
But do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast
But you must get to the line

I think people call him rubbish based on his history in management, and performances.

People call him good because he got to the semi of a world cup, losing to every decent team we played, and getting across the line against poor ones.

His history in management is neither here nor there.
We've had plenty of England managers with super records who haven't done any better.
And it's not as if he had the 'golden' génération of players.
There is always a tendency to overrated English players.

Mings. I’m scared. This is the biggest game of his career, let’s hope he rises to the occasion (probably not).

I don't think Southgate still knows who his best team is apart from Kane, Pickford and Trippier.

Maguire too tbh.

Tbf Croatia come into the tournament in the worst form of all the nations and have a pretty divided squad so Southgate might get away with it tonight.

Neither does anyone else. You can read ten different pundits and get ten different teams.
