It might not be in every case, but it usually doesn't just turn overnight, especially not within the country anyway.
Depends what you define as a "fan" as well. I'm sure a BBC writer said that Chelsea had 135 million fans, second only to Manchester United, at one stage.

I think its more of a LOL at your club than the individual fans.
Loads of fans cannot go to games for a myriad of valid reasons.
But to be 18k short on your first home UCL game for a long long time, when fans can attend, is embarrassing for the club, and you do not have to be a game attending fan to be critical or LOL at that.
Its embarrassing for the club because it undermines the narrative that you are one of the biggest elite clubs and reinforces the perception that you are actually just one of the wealthiest.

13k short. Although I don’t really get the narrative of however many short of being at capacity is a bad thing, that’s a very English phenomenon that actually isn’t a good thing.
I was expecting it to be even less than what it was though. I was going to go until my tickets got completely messed up. I’m more bothered that it appears the same has happened to some of my pl ones too.
