Yea you may have tough fixtures but it’s definitely not unlikely that you finish 4th. Best squad and playing more games isn’t really a bad thing.
Realistically it’s is between United, Arsenal and Spurs. Spurs are 7 points behind with 3 games in hand (Burnley A, Brighton A, Arsenal H), and Arsenal are 4 points behind with 3 games in hand (Chelsea A, Liverpool H, Spurs A). It’s pretty unlikely that with all teams on 26 games played than United wouldn’t still be 4th.
And you still have Spurs and Arsenal to play, regardless of what United fans think, they will go into both fixtures as favorites to win or at least come away with draws. Think the bookies have United as favorites for 4th too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal are favourites for 4th
I think we’ll need 6 points from o ur next 4 to give us even a chance, and 3 of those will need to be against spurs.
I honestly think Liverpool will beat us by 5 again.

No chance.
I wouldn't offer Rangnick the permanent position because he's semi-retired from coaching and it would be good to bring in someone, like Ten Hag, who is identifiably on the rise. I think that's also better for player recruitment and player mindsets.
But some of the negativity about Rangnick is pretty unhinged. I think some people nailed their colours to the mast when a few weeks ago and find it uncomfortable to acknowledge improvements since then.
I personally think Rangnick has been the best manager we had. He somehow turned us into a solid defensive side and big chance creating team for fun side. Its funny De Gea has been getting so much praise recently when he has conceded more than expected in nearly every game under Rangnick.

Things have definitely improved. The bigger games will tell by how much.
Unless Ten Hag is waiting to see what happens at Real Madrid.

Possibly. I reckon he'd take the United job though if we acted first.

No. Stick to the plan. If he gets to Champs League final ok let’s talk. Imo, Not gonna matter where he finishes in the league, but how he has us playing. If we back playing really good football, even if we finish outside the top 4, at least you can see what he brings.
If we scraping by getting results. Great, but appoint a new manager, with Ralf upstairs.
There are real good signs from him though. He gives me the feeling that the game of Football comes easy to him.
Sheriff the fact is we consistently outplay the opposition on expected goals and only don’t win when we score less goals than expected and concede more than expected or concede freakish goals. We seem to concede soft goals under Rangnick though like in the 2nd half of games when the opposition barely have a shot.
One thing to bear in mind is that Rangnick was brought in with the brief to transform United from a reactive football team into a higher pressing, proactive one, and this is a much more radical transition than the jobs done by other managers he's being compared with.
When Tuchel was offered the Chelsea job he asked them if they were really sure they wanted to sack Lampard, because the underlying stats were good. He didn't have to transform the way they played, but refine a few tactical details. Even Liverpool going from Rodgers to Klopp wasn't such a massive change as Solskjaer to Rangnick. Rodgers' LFC was a proactive side that wanted to dominate possession. Nevertheless it took monthly of training and key personnel changes before Liverpool were consistently playing the way Klopp wanted.

Sheriff we have finished ahead of Chelsea last 2 seasons and not lost a league game to Chelsea since that 4-0 loss in 2016 I believe.
Ralf getting top 4 would be some achievement tbh. Not for lack of spending just the players don't look like they're all on the aqme page.
The fact that Arsenal could slip back in after the abuse Arteta gets kinda speaks volumes. The bar has never been so low for unites but top 4's also never been so important

If other managers aren't available I could probably live with him staying on for longer if he wanted to and I''ve felt since he took the job he would but it's very unlikely that all of the managers we're looking at won't be available.
I think if we approached Ajax now we could get a deal agreed pretty quickly for Ten Hag if we really wanted to. That's what a well run club would do anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This.
The plan has been clear from the outset; Rangnick to come in, we seek our permanent manager when the one we want might well be available., Rangnick moves upstairs in a consultancy role.
That's a decent and coherent plan and we should stick to it. Lurching from one plan to the next is exactly the kind of thinking that has plagued the club for years.

Man Utd ranked 1st for stats in last 5 league games. Domination similar to Man City 100 Points side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just without the dominance of that city side 😅
Can't just pick one star mate and paint a rose picture. Being in denial is why Ole wasted so much time and money. I always said when vvd was back for Liverpool they would kick on. United read too much into past seasons table and assumed they were close when the signs have been there that the squad needs a total overhaul. From fees negotiated, to identity on the pitch United just seem in a sticky state.
