actually scrap that, Beck has only been registered with 2 clubs so it is possible to buy him now and loan him to Dundee.

Seems to be an assumption that the Beck deal will be a loan. Might not be.
Not saying it will be beck but I believe that we'll buy a LB rather than loan.
Brendan has someone specific in mind and we'll wait to the summer if necessary. He won't drop Taylor for a loaner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you will 100% not be loaning Beck this window and now it would be mental to sign him also.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
👍 can't be him then. All I know is they were offered a good South American LB currently playing in Scandinavia. Right profile, price, etc and the agent was told that Brendan has somebody specific in mind and the clubs are currently in negotiations.
Told the agent that they wouldn't be back for his boy as they're prepared to wait to the summer for Brendan's guy if necessary.
BTW.. anybody know what happened with McGregor yesterday? Just rested?

i reckon if you had found a buyer for Bernabei then you would have gotten a LB in. Summer prob makes more sense for a permanent replacement for taylor.

No winter break next year and league to start later.
Seems daft but then there is too many games these days.
Apparently we’re spending 5m euros on Diomande, wasn’t expecting that

no idea but when the danish journalist was told that we were paying about 1.5/2m he said if thats the price it would be an absolute bargain. If his contract wasnt running down he would expect him to fetch around 8m was his opinion
Decent fee to shell out on Diomande. They obviously feel there is a potentially significant return there.
Good profile, only 22, played 100+ first team games and has captained his side already.
Fingers crossed but as always time will tell.....
I know Clement wants to bring the average age of the squad down so spending £3m+ on a 28 Shankland might not be top of his agenda.
If he can find a striker of similar age/potential to Diomande then that might be more what Clement fancies. Plus if he has pace then even better.

Possibly l down to value Diomande represents and January being notorious for poor value, so jumping on that opportunity.
Wouldn’t be surprised if we sign another forward on loan instead of spending
A winger and a CF would be my first choices. We are desperate for quality in those areas.
Dont have much of a beef with another loan signing. We obviously spent a few quid last summer (and are getting zero value for it right now) so we might need to wait till next summer for a proper overhaul of the squad.
The out of contracts might go and a couple of them are midfielders so maybe just getting ahead of the game with Diomande.

Diomande can pretty much play anywhere ... when he joined he was a winger/wingback, then played as false 9, then played the 10 and is now playing deeper in a 6 role this season. I see that Vitesse just signed a new winger, wonder if that opens the door for Manhoef who we are reportedly interested in.
It does seem a bit mad to go and spend 5m on a central midfielder.
He looks the part from what i've seen but we need a winger and striker and I can't imagine that leaves much of a budget for those players.
Shankland is a non starter imo, we need a striker that can give us something in Europe and he's not that. Age profile isn't right either. No sell on value.
I think Silva is it for the CF position in January and we will be needing a cheap winger now.
I will say this profile of signing is a positive.
Koppen being brought in is promising and this is clearly one from his little black book.
