Will not be surprised to see our final two signings
of the window being Sargent & Solomon. The rumours
are out there that both players (like DCL) were the
players we'd possibly sign if nothing else panned out.

Have we generated any outgoing fees so far this window? I could be wrong but, seems like nobody
wants our players unless it's on the cheap loans.

if we signed Solomon on day one of the transfer wimdow we all would have been delighted after last year.

DCL makes no sense to me no way he starts ahead of Piroe after the last couple of seasons he has had.

Of your bringing in a striker ot has to be better than what we have and I just don't think he is and the injuries make it even more of a risk

Nothing of note all loans so may scrape some loan fees but yes I agree Batts we're unfortunately lumbered with at least 3 or 4 quite high wage earners no top side wants plus the one player you'd think would be an asset in Ramazani, DF wants to get rid and loan out to Glasgow Rangers.

Don’t understand why we haven’t let Piroe go tbh. Clearly identified the type of striker we need and they’re nothing like Piroe. Can see Piroe having use coming on as a 10/second striker if we are behind but that’s about it.

I have to say it looks like every decent striker we planned to get has rejected us and so we might as well roll the dice on DCL.

totally underwhelming, we look to get bambi out the door and bring in an even bigger crock. Looks like sheer desperation by 49ers. If this is the best we can expect its gonna be a long and grim season and only gonna end one way and we wont like it.

Shaun, I'd like to revise my prediction from 18th to 19th.

i reckon 21st if we go for that donkey, seriously reckon bambi would be a better option than dcl and that shows how desperate we are

Don't forget he attracts a red card or two but yes he's a definite gamble but if all the stars align like DCL he could, could being the operative word be a useful and fruitful signing and I sincerely hope Piroe can be a success but the truth is none of us know for sure but in the words of the great tv character Yossa Hughes from
Boys from the Black stuff to his priest,
Yossa "I'm desperate Father"
Priest "That's all right son you can call me by my first
name which is Daniel"
Yossa " I'm desperate Dan" !!!

One things for certain we need someone that can cross the ball.

Get El Khannouss in by the end of the week please

In fact I wouldn’t mind Fatawu, El Khannouss and Justin all from Leicester.

Batty, I think you are spot on about most things
When you said about bookies giving odds to entice punters, that's just not true
The odds compilers give prices that work to percentages
that favour the bookies of course
If punters think a price is too generous that price will shorten and the opposite happens if a price is too short
We must be trying to finish above Burnley Sunderland Brentford and Wolves, hence my 16th place prediction if we sign 3 goal scorers, think Bournemouth will be fine if it's true what I've heard about their new signings from people that have a good knowledge

What's the betting Paraag will say we stayed patient and acquired all our first choice signings???

Still noise that Leeds are going to cough up his release clause which is rumoured to be £29million and why the rumours of Ramazani to Rangers have resurfaced...I think it's either him or Solomon not both as it looks like Harrison is staying .

Solomon is not what we need at all

Can't believe it after all the strikers we have been linked with we end up with one with a worse injury record than Bamford. I prefer Piroe to be honest.

so going into a new season in PL and we are pinning ouur survival on a choice of Piroe, DCL, nunchucks and a 16 year old. i would laugh if i wasnt already in tears. Why when we get rid of one clueless owner do we always get another to replace them. Defensively they have done ok but we need to score goals as well and that not looking great at the minute. It will be like george graham all over. we will have 10 men in our own half and a striker on halfway line unless schmidt is still here and on the field watching from opponnents six yard box. So we will be hoping our striker can nick a goal every now and then unfortunately we dont have an ian wright or hasselbaink up top. This is really pathetic by 49ers and their master negotiator who writes contracts in his sleep. About time he woke up and smelt the BS hes been talking

Hopefully we get El Khannouss but if not I can see Leeds going for Solomon as I think there's no one else and Farke clearly trusts him and sees him as a better option than Ramazani who sadly looks as though he's not wanted by DF.

I follow your reasoning and could happen.

But what's the point in having DCL/Nmecha's height in the box with Solomon and James on the wings. It's neither of their games to whip in early balls. Wouldn't make sense.

It looks to me like there is a clear strategy of how the squad will fit together based on the transfer targets and signings. Whether or not Farke sees the picture will be interesting to find out. He obviously didn't with Ramazani & Schmidt. I wonder if he does with Nmecha as I was surprised he didn't start against Milan.

Is it too early to say 49ers out.
So many rejections they've settled for DCL.
Is Farke happy with this?
When are they going to start signing first teamers? Bamford could back up Piroe just as well.

posted on 13/8/25

There is a chance that this works btw. I used to really rate him but it feels like a huge risk along with Nmecha.

Either could score 15 goals this season if they stay fit and find their best form.

If anyone is thinking about jumping off a bridge do take a few minutes to compare the squad now to the one that we had when relegated.
I also have my criticisms of Farke but he is a million times better than Marsch who was closer to Hockaday than Premier League level.

Obviously it is.

And piroe is not first choice

Might change my prediction to 18th with the Dominic Calvert Injured sjgning. Dreadful management finally getting rid of Bamford to then replace him with mk 2.

posted on 13/8/25

I think Nmecha and DCL will be like for like subs and hopefully El Khannouss can supply decent crosses but if not then DJ Harrison and or Solomon will have to try and adapt to their strikers strengths as their professional footballers and should be able to.

Knowing Farke with 20 minutes to go I'm relishing the
prospect of him potentially throwing on Nmecha, Piroe,Mitrovic, and maybe 2 more free dads army signings,Antonio and Vardy to play 6 forwards in search of an equaliser???

Nicolás González sounds like something with legs. Mainly a RW but has a left foot so offers something different.
