Is that what he appeared to say down on the pitch? Or in the post match interview?

He wasn't trying to get Johnson in trouble, he wants consistency in refereeing.

I dont often agree with Gerrard but he was spot on there.

Although i can understand Mancini's frustrations in a way because there is absolutely no consistency.

Well this ref got it right, the other ref got it wrong.

Unless football is referred by one person every time or a computer it never will be consist its part of the game and had Johnson gone through the man I would agree with it being a red but did he even touch the player?!?!

Mancini looked rattled in his interview.

That's debatable fitlfc, it depends what warrants a red card these days. If any two footed challenge is worthy of a red card then Johnson should have walked.

If Kompany's was a red then that too was a red. I am not sure either were to be honest.

so if lescotts foot was 3.inches to the right and got in the way of the johnson missile resulting in a.broken ankle , is that a red?

That's the problem, its going to the dog's... Did you see Gerrard pull out of the 50-50? He's never done that before, but was probably scared of getting sent off. It looked awful.

if you go in with a 2 footed tackle, whether you get the ball or not you are risking seriously injuring the opponent. Should have been sent off IMO if 2 footed tackles are automatic red cards

Johnson should have walked, horrendous attempt at a tackle.

If Johnson had have gone through Lescott, it could have ended his career. As it is, they'll probably get a t-shirt printed for the entire squad depicting Johnson two-footing Mancini.

Scousers defending the despicable......nothing new here......move along.....

Both were reds if you want to eradicate the two footed tackle !
Carragher's assault on Nani was a shocker, they don't come much worse than that!!!

posted on 11/1/12

Gerrard bottled it not because he feared red but he did not want to injure himself!!

And if that massive meteor would have had a trajectory just 1 degree different than it did, the dinosaurs would still be roaming the earth

remember when Ronaldo got sent off for intent even thou he was 3 yards awat from the player......that was against City as well! But really both were red cards according to the rule, but I say the rule is pants!

There was'nt just one he pulled out of, i counted at least 3, very un-gerrard like.

ridiculous comparison ....

if a player went to punch another and missed would he stay on the pitch or get a red?

you scousers are oblivious to the fact that the.johnson tackle was discustingly dangerous. looked similar to the eduardo leg break but lower down
