Simple question

It's a simple question. Why have our results got worse since Simon Grayson took charge?

Anyone who wants to blame Lee Clark, explain why and apply the same logic to recents results at Leeds. Bearing that in mind, no matter what your answer to why our results have got worse, Dean Hoyle and Simon Grayson come out of recent weeks looking incompetent.

its the application within the squad thats been the problem..winning 2-0 and 3-0 and not seeing it out was a very sure sign of some deep seated problems..
to be winning at stevenage(at that time) 2-0 and looking comfortable was no mean feat.. dropping off and just allowing them to have the ball and all the play was the sign of a lack of spirit and leadership etc..

followed by bury, the alarm bells should have rung very loudly in graysons head, they certainly did on here.. he virtually kept the same team who rewarded him with a dismal home draw, a cr-p win against hartlepool and a scrappy win against chesterfield.. the win against charlton was a tough , hard fought one against 10 men and a charlton forward line who looked so uninterested it was odd..
Colchester scored for us and missed a penalty and we lost quite easily against the wendies..
All the above could be remedied, but the total lack of any performance or effort or skill yesterday is the biggest indication of the downward spiral of this squad..
If you go down, go down kicking and screaming not without even a whimper.. it bodes badly for any play offs.. Im still not 100% convinced that we wont have a fight on our hands to get into them..

Andy, you make a very good point....
Wasn't the biggest criticism of Lee Clark that most on here said something like...
"Hoyles given him all that money to compile a squad of high quality players"

You can't argue that he couldn't manage a team of quality players, then say they were all rubbish anyway when another manager does a lot worse with the same players....

myth
the quality of the opposition hasnt changed, but their attitude to us has..
they no longer back off when we do and take the draw..
town can certainly be beaten, by anyone who wants to push on and try to win the game..
we dont have the quality in the squad to win games without matching the opposition for effort and application, thats all..

BOOOTHY.

Not a good result comparison compared to our local Sheffield rival who also changed manager about the same time is it.

(I think) it was 38 who asked earlier !
during the hiring process, Did we even talk with Jones ?
Does anyone know ? he was certainly available at the time.

our squad of players are no better than anyone elses and since other teams realised this they know we are beatable the same as everyone else so they raise theyre game and then overpower us. weve been found out for ages that our players arent very good. think thats what 38 is trying to say

lillis for 16 games..
he wouldnt take any sh-t and he would still have a stand up with captain klutz..

go for it, see how we go...nothing to lose... we have now lost auto without much of a fight.. more than dissapointing..

mark knows as much about football as grayson and he has the club at heart.. jacko seemed to know f-ck all about management but his enthusiasm for town pulled it through(aligned with yoraths coaching of course)...

lillis when asked about the academy producing funds for town was very blunt..
"i want to produce players for huddersfield town, if they eventually move on , then so be it".. "its not in my brief or personality to think about anything else than whats good for the playing side of huddersfield town football club"..
To be honest mark would probably have "properly dropped" a few of the prima donnas by now..

Simple Question .. Who were you tryin to kid Boo .. ? .. Simple question my Aris mendi .. ..

YOU ASK US TO .. apply the same logic to recents results at Leeds ..

MY RESPONSE .. Why Just Leeds .. ? .. Lets Apply it to Sheffield Wednesday (even later mgr change than us) because to me that
has any assertion you keep on wanting to trot out regarding late managership changes "beware" Well n truly 'Trumped' ..

Hook Line and Sinker fella .. So thats the definitive end answer to that thread m8y ..

Apologies Boots i didn't realise when posting this thread i would not be able to contribute to it.

All the critism of Lee Clark is really irrelevent when asking why results have got worse since his departure in my eyes, but if not then you have to look at Leeds.

The reason i say Leeds is that is where our very own Simon came from, leaving under very similar circumstances to Clark with very similar results.

You can't with one hand say Simon Grayson is blameless because the bloke before was useless. Without giving Neil Warnock the same excuse, therefore also making Leeds' last manager equally as useless.

Sheffield Wednesday is a totally different scenario where i feel Megson was poor and Dave Jones has come in the lots of contacts and potential loan signings he built up in his time out of management.

The reason we have fallen away so badly was down to our chairman.

On The Megson Point ..

I'd have to disagree Boo .. Megson was fine .. His Club were right up there .. & given the werewithall to make the same two loan signings that Jones has .. Well its all Speculation really ..

What isn't speculation however is the fact that Mandaric held bad blood for Smegs .. Alas The Serb also held the joker in his pack .. SMeggsys P45 .. ..

He Smiles to all and Sundry ~ But somehow I Don't Like him .. ..

For me I fear ~ He has a touch of the Robert Maxwells about him

Deano on the other hand Does Not .. He strikes me as being an essentially honest character who is steering his way through a
Football Business World quite different to any other .. I Thank heavens he retains all the Confidence in himself To Make BOLD Decisions ..

I Totally believe he was right & perhaps all he lacked was a touch of the Dark mandaric Knight about him whence he would've pulled the trigger much earlier .. Nevertheless lets None of Us lose sight of the fact that~ His Ploy May Still Pay Off .. Then it'll be .. all around
