Not expecting many replies on this one tbh, but thought it was worth an article.
China's surge to the top of the Olympic medal table (6 golds already), and their tremendous display so far in the pool, which suggests that they are on the verge of smashing the USA/Aussie domination of swimming, reminds me how this country's Olympic results has improved over the last few Games.
Its only about 30 years since China barely featured at the Olympics. Suddenly they are on the cusp of overtaking the USA as the dominant force.
It seems inevitable that this domination will spread to other sports.
Will it spread to football ? If so, when is the earliest that China could win the World Cup ?
