Trott overcame childhood ilness to win 2 Olympic golds and is easily the most deserving of such an accolade yet does not make the top 5 list
======================

i think she would find that patronising.

she is an outstanding athlete, and does not need her childhood illnesses to be taken into account in order to fulfill that criteria.

talking about who has overcome the msot to achieve what they did, is a different discussion to who has achieved the most, which i would suggest is the OP's intention in this article.

How many more times .......Trott should have been in that list and if you bother to actually read the article you will see that I've already apologised for not including her .....Tell you what , have a word with Admin1 and get him to give me an extra voting slot or alternatively write your own vote article and include her

Correct , all I ever wanted with this article was to hear peoples views on which Brit they will remember for their achievements

"i think she would find that patronising."

What? i was mentioning it in the context of this poll, i wasn't suggesting that she should receive a pat on the head ffs.

Bradley from the list on here, but personally I find Nick Skelton the most inspiring, plus the show jump teams interview with Clair Balding from the pub the other night was hilarious.

Has to be Jess Ennis for me.

To be considerably consistent in the heptathlon for so many years is highly commendable.
She is an absolute machine.

..and yes I wouldn't say no...but that had nothing to do with my opinion or the amount of toilet paper I go through in a week.

Ben Ainslie for me. 4 golds and a silver in 5 seperate olympic games. Cool as ice under pressure and completed a phenomenal turnaround last week to win gold. Both physically and mentally he is a top athlete.
