Wethers said it right on another thread.
If he was going to Leeds they'd be shitttting their pants in excitement.
I've a sneaky feeling if their takeover goes through then they may just step in and hijack this deal....

In the wake of Jordan Rhodes' £8m departure to Blackburn Rovers, Town’s efforts to sign Jermaine Beckford from Leicester failed to pay off.
Chief executive Nigel Clibbens, director of football operations Ross Wilson and chairman Dean Hoyle spent hours in negotiations.
Beckford was central to much of what was going on, but Town couldn’t reach any common ground with Leicester over the 28-year-old, who still has two years left on his contract at the King Power Stadium club.
It is understood a season-long loan was Town’s preferred option while Leicester wanted to offload in a
permanent deal.

Aye cheers Leicester for wasting our time. Thanks to you we probably stopped pursuing any other avenues and now we have no striker replacement.

The loan window opens on Thursday, no need to panic. The £8m is going nowhere, no need to panic buy.

We'll get far better value in January.
All we need is a striker on loan, even two if we could secure loans away for Spencer and Alan Lee. I don't see either playing much of a part this season. Spencer needs education and game time, and Lee, well, should just go enjoy his twighlight years at a lower level to be honest.
