What was the point in swapping Carroll for Dzeko?!?!

I wonder if the Dempsey deal will still happen.

Fred are you that desperate for Dempsey to sign? He's 29, it sounds as though Fulham are trying get their pound of flesh from the deal and rip us off.

Good addition if we get him (for a reasonable price) but not that bothered if we don't.

Dzeko is more mobile and has far better technique than Carroll.

Like I say, I can't see it anyway, just passing on a rumour.

Nonsense. This window has been hugely poductive. We've got a new manager, off loaded a lot of dross, a lot of high earners who were apst their best, and signed a couple of exiting young players. So far so good. We are in a better position that we were in May. Can't ask for any more.

If we don't get Dempsey it will be the same case as it was with Siggurdsson and Ramirez. we were interested but are not going to pay above and beyond what we value them at. We are not PSG or City and shouldn't be throwing an extra few million quid at a club to over pay for a player, just as some are suggesting here. Thats what gets a club in financial trouble, thats what gets a club selling its assets in the long term and thats what gets a club closing in on administration.
