We've loaned out a striker and we haven't replaced him, leaving us with only two recognised strikers and everyone is going crazy.
I just want to point out something.
Arsenal are starting the season with only two recognised strilkers - Giroud and Podolski.
Chelsea have only Sturridge and Torres
Spurs have only Defoe and Adebayor
Newcastle have Ba and Cisse (I can't include Shola as a striker)
We'll need our midfield to provide goals as will the teams above. And I think we have a much more attacking midfield this season - Gerrard, Sahin, Allen, Assaidi, Sterling and Shelvey is a much more attacking midlfeld than what we had last season.
We'll also be playing a different way to last season, so we will have more runners from midfield getting into scoring opportunities than we did last season.
So lets give the team a chance and give BR a chance before we get all hysterical.
(by the way this is not a team comparison thing, so don't start saying yeah but no but Chelsea have Hazard and we have Assaidi. Its about the number of out and out strikers, and we have the same number as the teams above)
Lacking up front?

Redastomatoes, I think you miss the point of the article. Its not a comparison with Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs or the quality of players, its merely pointing out that we have the same number of out and out strikers as they do i.e. 2. The reason for the article was because half our board is going hysterical about us only having two strikers in the team and I pointed out that other teams do to. It was not a comparing exercise.
As we have a new manager and 4 new players, I have realistic expectations. I hope to finish in top 6 with a good push for 4th. Considering we've finished 7th 6th 8th in the last 3 seasons, I don't expect miracles.
Our realistic aim is to get amongst Spurs and Arsenal.

Also you have to remember 60 matches is in over a course of a season. I reckon we'd get strikers in January.

Considering we could be playing 60 odd games this season I'm slightely worried again...

I suspect that we'll play a lot of youth in the cups.

Also we could throw in Ngoo he could do no worse than Carroll did last season.

First choice option:
Asaidi Borini Suarez
Second choice:
Pacheco Morgan (Ngoo) Sterling
=============================
After coming up with this layout I feel much better.
I doubt our second choice could do any worse than last season's.
Also you have to remember than Rodgers' syste enables players to get forward a lot so I reckon midfielders would score a few as well.

Our own manager said he was hoping to sign 2 attacking players, only yesterday at about half two.
He wasn't hoping to sign them and play them in goal.
There is a reason why 95% of people are gutted by today, even generally positive posters like Got Better, me and PPD.
If you can't see it then it is because you don't want to see it.
Deluded.

While I feel that things won't get any worse than last season, I think that BR has PROBABLY made his first mistake of repeating what Kenny did.............not improving on our strike force. Time will tell!

Righteous, there's being gutted or disappointed and there's being hysterical. I was disappointed by not buying a striker but you out the whole summer in perspective and it was a reasonable window. You had people on here acting like idiots - if was embarrassing. Suddenly FSG were as bad as H &G because we didn't buy Dempsey. Dempsey?? Are you fecking kidding me. Hardly a player to turn on the owners and manager for.
The overreaction was immense.

The overreaction is immense on every board, whenever anything happens positive or negative.
I don't know why it comes as a surprise.
If we beat Arsenal on Sunday there will be a slew of 'we will finish 4th!' articles and Sahin will be the best player since Maradona.
If we lose then we will finish 14th and Sahin will be rubbish.
Such is life on football forums.

Because Liverpool fans are supposed to be better than that. We used to be knowledgable fans who weren't fickle, didn't knee jerk, or overreact. We wouldn't turn on our manager, owners and players with a click of the fingers.
I suppose that has completely gone now and we're actually just as bad as Arsenal fans. That's depressing.
