loan window still open i think

Really??

Just because Arsenal and Chelsea are doing it (I wouldn't compare us with Chelsea as Torres will get them many goals and is a true striker) doesn't mean we should do the same.

It's a different situation as Suarez has failed to be prolific at all however good he is and Borini is a kid.

I think Arsenal have problems too but why should that matter. I support Liverpool.

you are trying to be positive and i wish i could be - but its simple i dont care about other clubs - Liverpool IMO can not finish in the top 4 now and will struggle to make the top 8

That's who we're competing with

Torres is an out and out, proven, world class goalscoring centre forward that is why you don't need backup especially with the sort of goalscoring midfield Chelsea have behind him.

I think Arsenal are screwed too but I know think the likes of Spurs, Newcastle and Everton will finish ahead of us.

but we have no control over thier teams / selections.

we have no forwards to choose from

Suarez is not a natural goal scorer
Morgan - IMO not up to it
Borini - not up to it IMO

We have lost Maxi, Dirk who both chipped in with goals

I'm not saying we do the same as them but the reality is that they all only have two strikers - same as us.

So whay are we getting all hysterical about it as if we're the only team with two strikers. If Torres gets injured for Chelsea who do they have to fall back on? If Podolski gets injured for Arsenal who do they fall back on?

Brilliant, I love how VJ has decided Borini and Morgan aren't up to it after 3 games and 60 minutes respectively.

Torres isn't a goalscorer anymore. He was at Liverpool

How about the likes of Newcastle, Spurs, Everton and so on and so forth?

Torres's recent goal drip is papering over the cracks that is that he's past it!

What did he do tonight precisely? Chelsea are in a state of false sense of security

Not fair at all.

Borini will be a good player for us and Morgan is a kid. He isn't ready but I certainly think he'll be good for us

Dirk got 2 PL goals last season. Maxi performed in 2/3 games and went missing in the others.

I thought we were aiming to finish much higher this season?

If we don't get fourth I bloody hope Brendan has no fear of the sack because it won't be his fault.

I mentioned Spurs and Newcastle. Did you only read up to Chelsea and then stop?

Igor - Bookmark my comment if you think its a classic

i assure you that they are not up to it

Morgan often played 10-12 full games for the under 18's without scoring, he's then score and go another dozen games without scoring-----forgive me for being sceptical

Looks like he's finding some form

We are which is why we got rid of players who only helped us get to 8th last season.

Sorry FJM

I have a stinking headache and am fed up, must have missed the mention of Newcastle.

Lets hope its his form from the last 18 months and not his Liverpool form.

But we also needed to rectify the situation and we haven't done that.

Allen and Sahin won't get us goals and Assaidi isn't exactly prolific (he is a winger, mind) so we haven't rectified the problem of not having a goalscorer.

Brendan himself said we needed one so how can you be happy we've not got one!!

Torres hasn't been world class for 2 years now, maybe even longer.

I'm not being rude, but you really don't know what you're talking about. Morgan scored 18 or so goals last season for under 18s and reserves. If he did it the way you say he did then they must have played well over a hundred games.

posted on 1/9/12

Morgan was a great goalscorer in the reserves.

But then so was Nemeth, Pacheco, Mellor etc.

I think Morgan will be brilliant but let's not use his reserves goalscoring as an indication.
