An Epic Swindle

Thanks to our lying owners FSG.

When they first took over Werner promised that first and foremost we would compete with the top clubs in Europe on transfers. Yesterday the stiffed their newly appointed manager by refusing to stump up 5m plus add ons for a striker who scored 20+ goals last season, Clint Dempsey. He would have also added some revenue given our close links with America, it could have been a match made in heavan.

Instead Brendan was told to move players on to brings some in which he did shaving millions of the wage bill only to be told at the last minute that it was not enough. BR fully expected replacements as quoted on numerous occasions. He has been let down by FSG in an epic swindle.

We have had some crossed words over this transfer window but one thing that we all share is the fact we love our team, from my own perspective
when the team loses it puts a cloud over the whole weekend and my liver suffers the consequences. Our squad has been left without a recognised Premiership goal scorer and even worse, had AC moved on leaving us
without the ability to change tactics to bring a goal.

We all know we will be talking again about the team having possession, hitting the post and then going on to lose the match. We will be left wondering why we didn't sign a player to rectify the problem having been royally let down by an ownership who have shown themselves in their true colours. Making a profit out of our club comes first and results a distant second.

This quote from Ben Smith sums it up to me:

Was told yesterday, Brendan Rodgers only realised his £20m summer transfer budget included wages, very late on.

I think there is every chance BR will walk away after this sort of treatment. I smelt a rat with his comments on Gylfi Sigurddsons wages and took responsibility for missing out on him. Are we all so sure this was not down to funds now?

All in all to quote our last owners

'we have been caught up in an epic swindle'

Thanks very much FSG, I hope counting the money takes your mind off the fans suffering.

I can understand the lack of ambition from our greedy owners it's more difficult to understand it when it comes to some of our own fans. The smoke and mirrors are working wonders.

As long as everyone's fine with no future CL & monies, then whats to worry about??

------------------------------------

Is this all based solely on not signing Dempsey? He's really not so good thta he would help us gain the 18 points we were behind a CL place.

The point being,we did'nt even sign a striker to help us have a go at getting near top 4,thats disappointing as its been obvious for two seasons now that we need a player who can get a good average per season to chip in.
Not too fussed about missing out on dempsey, but the whole saga does'nt look great does it.
They must of known fulham were going to take it to the wire and play hardball, but offering £3m was never going to get him no matter who was bidding, lets be honest.

Not exactly covered themselves in glory, considering our goalscoring record over the last few years.

We bought borini and I'm disappointed that some fans have already given up on him. I'm pretty confident he will score more than Carroll did last year. If that happens, and Allen and sahin are better than spearing and Adam who they replaced, then we will have a better year than last

What a rubbish article, how fickle fans are, FSG dig us out of the hole h&g got us into, with their own money, they employed KD and let him spend a bucket load of cash on dross that we're still complaining about (At least no one will be bitching about charlie adam being useless this year, eh!!).

Not read the other comments. But "When they first took over Werner promised that first and foremost we would compete with the top clubs in Europe on transfers. "

All that changed when KK & DC spent around 6 seasons worth of budget in 3 months.

I keep saying this but I think, although yesterday made me doubt FSG a bit (last night felt like a black hole but today is a new day) Kenny and more so Comolli really have done some damage to the club in the long run.

Aggs.

As ever:

I think you and I both knew this moment was coming for a long time.

I await the FSG/Jen Chang PR offensive with baited breath. It's on it's way.
