At least we're not in a club in crisis.... yet.

Perfectly summed up Agger

We supposedly have the money to compete with anyone in Europe but just not the extra £1m to buy Dempsey. < doh>

I was wondering when you would pop up with some positivity

However this time you just might be right. Don't get me wrong and this is not an attack on you but I have been hoping for a long long time that you would be wrong with your comments and opinions on FSG however I am starting to think you might be right

You must be feeling torn this morning ARE? On one hand disappointed that we've not signed a striker to fill the whole that we've desperately needed since 'he whose name should not be spoke' left to Chelsea, and on the other happy that your views on FSG seem to have been vindicated.

Hypnophilus

After taking a hiding from fellow fans I do feel vindicated in my views but as you correctly pointed out I can't take any pleasure from it becuase all I want to see is my team doing well.

As for Torres I was very unhappy with him at the time and I ended up being banned from the Chelsea board after some crossed words with them. I can't say I feel any animosity towards him now, he said he felt let down, that comment hits the right chord now.

Pretty spot on mate. FSG look like H&G all over again and i didnt think that was possible. This does not bode very well at all and i can defo see suarez reina and the likes moving on, if you dont invest or back the manager when you need to why are you at the club?? Its not like they didnt know what they were getting into.

I know how you feel man! I followed the deadline day like crazy. Refreshing the BBC page every 30 seconds, hoping the Dempsey news, also hoping that FSG will surprise me nicely with another one like Theo because in all fairness I like FSG. I now feel a bit let down and gutted that we lost Dempsey to spurs for 6 million, ffs!! But its stil not fair to compare FSG to H&G, H&G were shambles. FSG have a plan and may be they wanted to curb the spending after last window, sending a message to other clubs that LFC won't be held for Ransom while buying players. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, till the Jan transfer window and if I don't see any improvement, I will join in the bashing!

And GB, hold off your horses mate, they don't look like H&G, yet!

And remember in FSG's first transfer window when we originally weren't willing to pay more than 12m for Suarez, then all of a sudden we pay the 24m asking price and Torres hands in a transfer request.

When they first took over Werner promised that first and foremost we would compete with the top clubs in Europe on transfers.

----------------------

I don't recall them saying they would compete with the top clubs at all. They certainly said they had the resources, but that was it.

Since then Werner has spoken publicly about how the model has changed since the wastefulness of the Dalglish era. Werner has explicitly stated that the club would now become self sufficient and the big spending days of KD were over.

There is nothing misleading about what he has told us. Its only misleading if you chose to ignore certain steatements.

Sure, we would all love to have a bottomless sack of cash, but thats not the reality of our situation. We will be self sufficient and will not be in the same financial mess that we have seen over the last 2 decades. I am thankful for that small mercy

As long as everyone's fine with no future CL & monies, then whats to worry about??

I can understand the lack of ambition from our greedy owners it's more difficult to understand it when it comes to some of our own fans. The smoke and mirrors are working wonders.

------------------------------------

Is this all based solely on not signing Dempsey? He's really not so good thta he would help us gain the 18 points we were behind a CL place.

The point being,we did'nt even sign a striker to help us have a go at getting near top 4,thats disappointing as its been obvious for two seasons now that we need a player who can get a good average per season to chip in.
Not too fussed about missing out on dempsey, but the whole saga does'nt look great does it.
They must of known fulham were going to take it to the wire and play hardball, but offering £3m was never going to get him no matter who was bidding, lets be honest.

Not exactly covered themselves in glory, considering our goalscoring record over the last few years.

We bought borini and I'm disappointed that some fans have already given up on him. I'm pretty confident he will score more than Carroll did last year. If that happens, and Allen and sahin are better than spearing and Adam who they replaced, then we will have a better year than last

What a rubbish article, how fickle fans are, FSG dig us out of the hole h&g got us into, with their own money, they employed KD and let him spend a bucket load of cash on dross that we're still complaining about (At least no one will be bitching about charlie adam being useless this year, eh!!).

Not read the other comments. But "When they first took over Werner promised that first and foremost we would compete with the top clubs in Europe on transfers. "

All that changed when KK & DC spent around 6 seasons worth of budget in 3 months.

I keep saying this but I think, although yesterday made me doubt FSG a bit (last night felt like a black hole but today is a new day) Kenny and more so Comolli really have done some damage to the club in the long run.

As ever:

I think you and I both knew this moment was coming for a long time.

I await the FSG/Jen Chang PR offensive with baited breath. It's on it's way.
