Good afternoon all,
It seems like forever since we were humiliated twice in the space of a few days versus Crawley and Hull, doesn't it. Bloody international football.
Odds for today's game
Bolton win 8/11
The Draw 5/2
Watford win 4/1
Here are our predictions - and I can't quite recall such a groundswell of confidence in the middle of a poor run.
Bolton win 32
The Draw 2
Watford win 1
Did you know?
Watford FC have two honorary life presidents, turnip head and Reg Dwight. Dwight performed his first ever gig at The Namaste Lounge pub in Watford.
Watford has a Colosseum. No Christians get mauled by lions there though, it's an indoor concert venue.
The term 'North of Watford' is used by Southern softies to denote the rest of the country, which is obviously a cultural oasis in comparison to the above.
Teams - Alonso in for Ricketts, Mills in for Ream, Ngog in for Lee. Some sort of 4-4-2 but with only Eagles as a natural wide player.
Final score
Wanderers 2-1 Watford
Mills 3
K Davies 42
Doyley 58

Well I'm happy to try and second guess Coyle mate but I don't have all the answers.
I believe that when fit, Ngog is our first choice forward.
Kevin Davies has been playing better than Sordell recently, so he kept his place.
Lee has been playing poorly and was justifiably dropped.
Petrov has lost his place to Eagles who is our main man so far this season - that's football.
Coyle wanted to play only one natural wide player today so he picked the inform one.
Petrov was so poor at Burnley it was untrue, so he goes to the back of the queue while the guy who has his place is playing so well.
Same with Alonso in for Ricketts. Ricketts has played poorly, there's a good player waiting for that shirt, so he gets his chance.

I don't think Ngog is a bad player I find it very difficult to hail him our so called missing link. How anyone can claim a guy who never scores even in a better team than us with Liverpool.
You quote stats about points gained with Ngog in the team then throw away the fact we got more clean sheets with Robbo (who I don't rate). Your picking and choosing your stats like a politician.
As for accepting any rubbish that's a direct quote from you LH to HH and he does have form for it!

HH was it you that claimed Ngog to be better than SKD in his prime?

I think HH's comment was that N'gog has the potential to be better than Davies in his prime. Its a fairly key difference.

We got 2 clean sheets with Robbo, and 1 without, but we also conceded more goals in less games? So depends whether you prefer to concede 3-4 a game, most goals coming from the right hand side, and get 2 clean sheets in 16 games, but losing 13 of them? Or get 1 clean sheet, concede 1 or 2 a game, and losing 9 of the next 22? I prefer the latter.
And with Ngog, I'm not hailing him as a superstar, or as Anelka's cousin..but he is our best striker, and we do play alot better with him than without him.
And WF is correct, I said because of his alround play, the fact he has pace, and can actually use his feet, means that he will be better in his prime than KD was in his. But to be honest, I actually think in terms of general play, Ngog isn't that far from equalling a primed KD, the difference was that in KD prime, he had like of Anelka, Djorkaeff, Speed, Diouf, Stelios, Nolan, Campo, Hierro etc around him, so it was easier in a way for him. Ngog isn't a superstar, but I do think he is the best of a weaker bunch in our team.
And he averaged a goal once every 180 minutes and an assist every 180 minutes at Liverpool. It's not his fault he only played 400 minutes a season there, he was behind the worlds best striker at that point.
I hope we play to Ngoh strengths more this season, he has weaknesses, but he has great strengths aswell, Coyle needs to set us up to utilise them more..otherwise he will move on and show us where we went wrong.
Coyle needs to step up now, I've been very unhappy with the team selections this season, very very unhappy.
