I've answered that in my paragraph starting 'first of all'. I'm not alleging they are all sick and twisted. I am saying they are incredibly lacking in sensitivity and awareness at the very least.

i agree mate, the timing wasnt great, i just think some people dont think, rahter than act malicious.

Until the point that someone makes them aware of the origins of the chant & that it's deemed as offensive to Liverpool fans, once they're aware of that fact, then if they continue to use it, then they are guilty as charged.
They're now aware of it as SAF himself came out after the game & said enough is enough, it needs to end & that chant forms part of it.
I hope Sundays game proves to be a turning point, but I wouldn't bet on it, due to the seething tension over the Evra / Suarez nonsense.

One thinig I hate almost as much as these chants, is the people who use the whole situation purely to point score.
Take Saturday for example, the United board had its resident City fans (and a few Liverpool fans) telling us how classless we all were. Something tells me that these people dont give a damn about the chants, they are just delighted to have the oppurtunity to put down a group of rival fans. Same goes with certain United fans and Munich chants.
Forget about the club these people claim to represent, they are just digusting human beings which football as a whole does not need.

If you scroll up i think you will see that i agree. I think the chants are worse than the trolls that use it to points score...
but using a minority to tar the whole fan base is just pathetic and childish

Great post scouse-heart and spot on!
Sadly there are a number of idiots out there who look up to these sick people and join them to try and get the acclaim they crave and this is why it will always happen. Some don't know any better, some just aren't educated enough to understand what they are doing.
It's a sad state of affairs but we do indeed live in a Jeremy Kyle Nation. People so hungry for fame an acceptance, they'd sell their own parents up the river for 15 minutes of fame or a few quid!
But it is a minority who choose to act this way and we must remember that. Let's not give them the time and publicity they crave and hopefully we can weed them out!

idiots hate to be ignored..if their stupidity isnt reported or commented on, or responded to they then get little or nothing from being idiots..

to the United fans on here that are "admitting" that United fans sing about Hillsborough. Do any of you actually go to games or have you just accepted what the papers print ?
I must have been to over 500 games post Hillsborough and I can't recall hearing a single chant about it at a United game. I did once hear someone sing about it in a bar in Cyprus when we were playing Macabi Haifa there and he got smacked by other United fans.
That said, best behaviour is demanded for Sunday and no songs which could possibly be interpreted by the media (desperate for United to misbehave) as being about the disaster should be sung.
Respect should be shown to the families who never gave up. And those of us old enough to remember will recall that but for a couple of dodgy decisions against Forest in the quarters, we could well have been there that day. There but for the grace of god (and linesmen) and all that.....

less people chant rascist stuff than ever before..thats the criminal stuff..
the distastefull stuff might take a bit longer..more people will get in their ear when they do it...idiots dont actually like to be looked at as idiots by proper people..
peer pressure in this case could be a good thing..

Both sets of fans should drown the idiots out with a chant of unity like 'we are the real fans, just go home'
I know it won't happen but I can dream.
