Shelvey

How many games does he miss?? With league cup coming up midweek, does it mean he will only miss that and no league game if it's a one game ban??

No worries mate! Yes lets hope Sahin shines in the weeks/months to come

Also Shelvey has to mellow down a lot, I think he will be a good player

NO! He doesn't. He needs to channel that aggression in the right way. He's driven and wants to achieve. Don't ever take that away from a player, imagine if we had someone like that leading the "spice boys"

What Jonjo needs to do is stay on his feet. At present he will be played furthest forward of the midfield, there is no need for him to dive in high up the pitch.

His reading of the game will improve and he'll have less of a need to go into a challenge like he did. But it happens to the best of them (Gerrard v Everton and Man Utd?)

He just needs to stay on his feet for a few games and not give refs / opposition a reason.

Jimmy agree with everything bar him being a
good player he is an headbanger . I can see
him being a part ex in the jan window. the
sooner the better for me.

It gives me absolutely no pleasure to say it but, I told you so, several weeks ago that Jonjo is a Yellow/Red card waiting to happen. It's his reaction post-tackle that is most worrying. Instead of keeping schtum, he cracks on with Rio (bad, very bad, move) then berates a totally bemused SAF who comes out on top simply by laughing out loud at his antics. I hope you are wrong Joecos, I hope Brendan can focus his mind. Big challenge though. jimmyTheRed

No way he's a headbanger.

Young man who's frustrated. But driven.

He'll be fine. And we will be fine with him.

He's young and impetuous. With maturity that will change.
Interesting to see the "Being Liverpool" part 2 last night showed Brendan telling Jonjo to stay on his feet - that was months ago! Hope Brendan perseveres with him, as I think he will be quality.

He's only 20 ffs! No one made a big fuss about Odemwingie petulantly kicking someone. At least Shelvey wholeheartedly went for the ball.

I quite enjoyed Shelvey having a go at fergie, fair play to him i thought.

He can be a bit rash in his tackles and Rodgers has told him he needs to stay on his feet. I love is commitment and passion for the game thoughtand dont want any of that to be changed. He just needs to stay on his feet more.

Anyone remember Stevie G at 20? Very similar in terms of rash tackling.

Absolutely.

Loved it when he gave rio some verbals. He doesn't take any grief off anyone.
