Well well well, after decades of being a counter-attacking manager playing old fashioned 4-4-2 and setting his teams up to have less of the ball, old Woy has had a complete sea change in the space of 4 months as England boss.

This is the guy who when challenged on whether his style was suited to being Liverpool manager said:

"Unbelievable. What do you mean by that? In 35 years, how many clubs have I had? What do you mean do my methods translate? They have translated from Halmstads to Malmo, to Orebo to Neuchatel Xamax, to the Swiss national team, so I find the question insulting. To suggest that because I have moved from one club to another, that the methods which have stood me in good stead for 35 years and made me one of the most respected coaches in Europe don’t suddenly work is very hard to believe."

It appears the coaches of Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany have convinced Woy that possession football is what matters at International level. It's just a shame he didn't realise the same about club football and he might not have been such a disaster as Liverpool manager.

Who knows, there might even be hope for England yet if he actually means this philosophy change and it is not just words to appease the media. What a strange epiphany to have after 35 years in coaching.
