Edin Dzeko

I may well get vilified for this, but I think we should make a bid for him in January, if not then definitely in summer.

He may not be the quickest, or even the best. But he has an adept ability to score goals. You could argue that city would craft better chances for him to take. But he is on the pitch for mere minutes and he grabs goals.

He also has a great record from his time at wolfsburg. I remember reading somewhere that the city owners are tired of spending only and want to start making some on their players. I think a £12 mill or so bit could clinch it for a (top class) bit part player.

The price can be argued as he was bought for a hefty 30 million price. But, lets be honest, he hardly plays, we could guarantee him first team football - in return, he would give us another option in the striking department that we sorely lack. He is built like Carroll, only he is actually graced with footballing talent. He scores with both feet and his head (See the spurs-city game last season), can pick a pass and would be a worthy addition to us if he was willing to come.

Thoughts?

I have to agree with that. At least give him a chance.

I'm still scratching my head that a premier league club, never mind one the size of Liverpool, have found themselves in a situation where they entered the season with arguably one senior striker, two at a push with Borini.

It's utterly ridiculous and makes the club look like amateurs. An injury or suspension to Suarez and we will be fooked.

It seems that the movers and shakers must think you can just win games on past reputation alone.

PPD, I fully agree. However, BR has gone as near public as he can in saying that there's gong to be a Jan signing. I'm beginning to think he talks too much, he even answers questions. Now, whenever did Rafa ever to that? He always gave the standard: 3/4rs of 5/8ths of f. all reply to all questions. a master class every time. jimmyTheRed

If Brendan says that Liverpool will sign forwards in January, then I believe him. Reports today suggest that Brendan wants Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge.

Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge wiil be lethal in the air and fine replacements for Andy Carrol.

We won't be playing high-balls, so a need for someone thats good in the air, our emphasis is on having quick feet and moving the ball at speed. So the likes of Sturridge and Walcott would be ideal.

There is no need for someone thats good in the air. However, If I wanted to see Liverpool sign 3 forwards, my choice would be those two and Fernando Llorente, who is quite nifty in the air. He fancies a move to the PL rather than Serie A, and his mate is Pepe Reina.

Best get in quick before anyone else spots his potential eh!

I thought Stewart Downing's main gripe about getting no assists was that there was no one with any hight to aim crosses at - Bit odd considering AC is about 6' 9".

I agree height isn't eveything though considering City scored 93 goals last season and only 2 were headers in open play..
