DC1, what "numerous approaches?
Every manager of Scotland for the last 15-20 years has parked the bus. This has been the "ONLY" approach.
Maybe get a guy in ASAP and without pressure to qualify he could try some fresh ideas. Like maybe attacking teams?

I don't care.
Levein is gone
Who ever it is will be a breath of fresh air.

What a terrible decision.
They should have kept him on. He was doing a fantastic job, under difficult conditions.

crappy players is the problem
10 managers in 12 years it matters not
international football in this country is dead
we are a back water because of the lack of quality players, and that will never change

Back in the fifties, the team was selected by the SFA themselves with, what we would call a 'coach' (John Brown? Archie Knox?) nowadays, running the training sessions.
Wouldn't that be a novelty once more? Certainly couldn't be any worse than what the Tartan Army have been subjected to over the past 12 years.
And if it doesn't work out, at least another good reason to force the issue of getting something, anything, done about the state of Scottish football these days.
