Just wondering what's happened to him, I remember his first few months at anfield were pretty impressive, there was even talk of him joining the Spanish national team before Alba emerged. Now he's being mocked by pundits and fans alike, anyone got any ideas what's happened to him?
P.S. what's with his psycho shaved head???

If Enrique's only job was to defend, he'd be ok.
But as the system requires the full backs to attack, he fails cos he plays with his head down and his passing is very poor (with exception of the Suarez goal which I am sure the whole of Anfield is still puzzeled how he pinged that pass!)

Problem with Enrique is going forward he is hopeless, as is his passing. He used to be a good defender but his game is caught in two minds. For me he will be never be nothing more than a backup leftback.

Nonsense. It the past two games alone, going forward he has created numerous chances. He created one for Sterling, putting him through one on one in the Everton game and he created for Suarez against Newcastle, who scored.
We know he's a great player, we've seen it. The problem is, we've also seen the dodgy side of him. All we need to do is back him, as he slowly gets back to form, and he has been.
Playing Johnson at left back takes away a massive part of our game overall. He has to play right back. Enrique left back.

I completely agree with that.
When he lost form, he continued to hold the ball and run in circles shielding it but with lower confidence, he wasn't able to pull it off and he struggled. He now has went back to basics, defending and passing the ball without trying to take on the whole left side and he's getting back to where he was.
I don't understand some of our fans on here, they jump on our players at the slightest dip of form.

On the crossing issue in the final third, it's one of the best parts of his game, unfortunately we have nobody to cross it to. This part of his game is redundant with us and the same goes for Downing, who should be sold in January.

I'm sorry but Enrique was comfortably the worst player on the pitch against Newcastle. I can cross the ball better than him and I really mean that. Countless times moves broke down becuase of him. He defended okay but his passing was amateur, positioning was suspect and his final ball was laughable.
He is only playing because our right back is injured and that speaks volumes.

Wha?!
Enrique was one of the best players against Newcastle. He defended well and he got forward well and even assisted a goal.

Agreed,he's a liability at times, and it usually proves costly.
Taking too much notice of how fifa 13 players pixilate!

1. he's unift
2. he's not defending well as he's not trusting others to cover one side and let him just focus on the real danger ie the byline
3. he holds the ball way to long
4. distribution is iffy.
but the only one that really matters is he's totally unfit. he needs to get that right and then the rest will not be so bad at all.
