NOT SO MAGIC

A very poor show from the Brewers today. We missed Zanders leadership and we were headless chickens. One up front just did not work GR., very poor tactics. We gave the ball away to cheap all the game and made Leicester look better than they are. When you look at the amount of money there
team are worth ( millions ) are they that good?. Ok we did not deserve to win as we did not turn up and showed no fight at all. I dont blame players like Zola because GR gave him more than any striker can chew. Please GR can you stop this silly one man up front and hoof football.

Come on GR time to regroup your team and get on with the most important part of the season. This season the fans want to see the points on the table within the next two months, with no silly dogfight at the end of the season.

Come on GR get your tactics correct and put a rocket where the sun dont shine.

I am prepared to give Jimmy another chance believe it or not.

For all bar the first 12 games of his Brewers career in 2009 he has been rubbish. Lightweight, brushed aside with ease, can't cross, can't beat players and can't shoot.

Maybe he has the hunger now after being out so long. Maybe he has bulked out a bit. It is optimistic perhaps but let's see.

Cleveland? When I am at a game I always hope that our players do not pass the ball to him. You may just aswell give it to the opposition.

Well i wasnt even prepared to give him a contract Otep. For me Jimmy has had his chances and i believe hes only being given a bit part contribution because Gaz knows what a king sized mistake he has made putting him on that contract. The man is at best a conference player and thats pushing it.

It really, really annoys me when I see players who are clearly not up to it.

I am not in the football profession. I just watch it. When I see players who deliver absolutely nothing and keep getting a game I wonder what the Manager sees that I don't. They must know more than me about the game otherwise I would be the Manager.

We see.....x player failing to do xyz week in, week out and it is the equivalent of us playing with 10 men each time.

The Manager sees.....?

Agree with everthing thats been said so far.
Why didn't we have a go second half.
1500 people payed hard earned money to watch them play yesterday and some played with a couldn't careless attitude.
This is what i've been on about for weeks on here.
Total inconsistancy.
Rowett yesterday must be held responcible for yesterdays awful second half performance.
He surely set the team up to lose 2-0 as we only mustered 1 shot at goal all second half.
I commented over the christmas period about falling gates.
Many more performances like this and surely the most ardent fans will start to wonder again.
People won't pay to watch players that can't be bothered.
Agree with Ady1963 about Mansfield.
Was at the game and feel absolutly gutted for them.
Played with more passion than we have ever shown
Shame the cheat won the game for Liverpool.

Firstly enjoyed my day out and it was good meeting up with a couple of old buddies - Jason and Ian thanks for the beer!

Leicester were good, very good. Excellent squad of players who all looked as if they wanted it - at times they kept the ball so well I thought there was only one team on the pitch!!

Rowett has made some surprising team selections recently, this game was no different. Drury looks like he may grow into a decent player, but he is lightweight and will struggle with the everyday battle that is L2, need to give him time though so fingers crossed. Mags disappeared, McCrory was awful and McG I don't believe touched the ball the game just passed him by! Attitude looked poor, it was as if the whole squad knew we weren't goint to win so did nothing about it and as Pez says a lot of people paid a lot of money to go and support - sorely disappointing. Bringing on Taylor and Phillips baffling, neither are up for it and Billy and Pato must have been furious!!

Think the striker question will go on and on. Billy has been playing well, Calv is awesome, Paterson is back from injury yet GR decides to play Calv up against two of the best centre backs in the Championship - why? it was nothing more than hopeful hoofball to Calv who I really felt for.

Fans will not follow if this is the level of commitment from the manager and the team - that is worrying after the good start to the season we have had, so lets hope it is nothing more than a blip and we get the team selection, tactics and determination back against Torquay on Saturday. UTBs

Sadly i think the hoofball tactics are here to stay.
Football fans in general are very fickle when it comes to results.
Most aren't bother about performance as long as they win.
Sadly the hoofball tactics do work when we play someone up with Zola.
Its when he's missing the big problem occurs because they don't have another option.
Taking off Zola ( someone commented he was injured ) was a strange one especially as Kee was expected to play lone ranger which isn't easy against quality defenders although Zola seems to excel at it .
As i said before we could at least tried to have a go.
the game was realistacally over after 20 minutes.
Think we will see more of the same for the rest of the season.

We could at least tried to have a go........................Exactly!

Against York last week and against Leciester we went two down and did - nothing. Really felt in both games it was damage limitation rather than 'having a go'.

Calv needs either Kee or Paterson playing alongside him - I know we started with Calv/Kee and it didn't happen against York but in nearly all our 'good games' this season the Calv/Kee/Paterson partnership have been pretty successful, so lets get back to two up front please!!

Leicester fan in peace.

It's interesting to me that you all talk about your team's negative tactics - because that was precisely what surprised me watching the game. When we scored our second goal, I thought: They'll go 4-4-2 now. They have to: it's the FA Cup and it doesn't matter how much you lose by in that - you might as well try everything you can to win. So I was very surprised when you came back out in the second half playing 4-5-1 and amazed when you subbed Zola and continued playing 4-5-1. I understand Gary Rowett said afterwards that he was thinking at one point (something like): "Please don't score 8 or 9". So I agree with one of the points above that our 6-1 thrashing of Huddersfield a few days earlier might have influenced him. That doesn't make him right of course.

Still, I thought your players tried hard for you although we did keep the ball very well at times in the second half. I hope those of you who went didn't have too bad a day and I hope for all of you that your manager doesn't decide to sit on a 2-0 loss again this season. Best of luck!

We are as baffled as you Dungeon Master why we didn't have a go! Not an Albion fan at the game who didn't question our tactics and why we didn't change it up and the weird substitutions!

That said thought you guys were outstanding and showed the class that a team gunning for the EPL needs - Wood I think will be a fantastic signing for you.
