I did not think it was that bad JFW - considering they are 2 divisions higher than us. I expected nothing and we got nothing. However, the heads could have gone down after the 1st goal but they didn't and indeed they kept going for 90 minutes.

I tend to agree about the formation - to a certain extent. I think 4-5-1 might have been correct to start with. When the second went in I think it was time to go to 4-4-2. We might just aswell have gone for it.

It was the usual story today - hoofball achieving nothing and when playing football (which we did at times) looking pretty decent.

We created a few chances which surprised me though I think Leicester treated the second half as a practice match.

The manner in which we conceded the two goals was a bit disappointing as I think some stronger challenges and some quicker decision making would have averted the danger.

Young Drury looked more than a bit useful. That was a positive.

There was only one real gripe for me today and it is now starting to make me really angry. In fact it ruined my day. Cleveland Taylor. Why bring him on? Why does he even get on the bench? Every touch he had in his ½ hour on the pitch was like he was playing for Leicester.

He is very poor. Passing, strength, beating players, crossing - you name it, he isn't up to it. There was one moment in the game when he got the ball in a break and had a ten yard head start on his man. He was caught and dispossessed in 2 seconds. He must be really good in training - that's the only explanation for his inclusion that I can think of. Any ideas?

Well as you all know i am not able to get to many away games and after going yesterday i am really glad that i dont.Third round of the cup fantastic support and Gaz sets the team up for damage limitation,PATHETIC.The Foxes were at a canter for the whole 90 minutes and made us look silly when in truth we are not a bad side if we were set up in a positive formation.I for one would have prefered to go out and have a go and would have thought more of Gaz for doing so.If we carry on this negative tactic away from home im afraid there wont be many points on the horizon.

My usual rose tinted specs are well and truly off!

100% agree with JFWqert6 - tactically rubbish and team selection baffling.

We have three goal scorers at this club - Zola, Kee and Paterson to start with only one of them against a CCC defence baffling - to bring on Taylor and not Kee or Paterson baffling and then to bring on Phillips again baffling!

I just don't get it - start of the season we were playing free flowing football an excellent passing game and now it seems GR has knocked that out of us and reinstated some sort of hoofball game to the one man up front.

Was gutted yesterday and for the second game in a row when we have gone behind GR has done nothing about it.

Foxes were excellent and well worth their win. Hope they get a good draw.

I am not defending GR here. I am just being realistic. I have said for quite a while now that we are garbage away, have difficulty scoring goals away and 'hoofball' has been quite a prevalent football style for months. What we got yesterday shouldn't surprise us really.

I expected a much heavier defeat so I am quite pleased. That's the beauty of setting your expectations so low.

The decision about the formation? Lest we forget that a few days earlier we were 4-4-2 at York and losing 3-0 (an abysmal performance) whilst Leicester were beating Huddersfield 6-1. That probably influenced him.

Maybe he hoped that playing defensive would get a draw and a replay.

Had we gone 4-4-2 and received a very heavy defeat he would have got slagged off for not playing it a bit tighter.

That said, there were times in the first half when we created openings that were crying out for a second forward. I was disappointed at the time about that.

I was also a bit disappointed that the away following did not get anything to cheer about and were silenced after 2 minutes. That's football though.

On the plus side, in the league it was good to see Bradford, Fleetwood, Rochdale and Chesterfield lose.

Very poor performance one up front your asking for trouble can not think why he didnt play with two up front second half. Taylor a waste of space get him out on loan how many chances can you give him .

Good point Ady - send Taylor out on loan. I dare say no-one wants him though...and who would if you saw him play? His contribution is nil.

I was listening to an ex Premier League player on the radio the other day. He said that some teams have a player who is forever gesticulating to the crowd and pumping their fists. He said that player will usually be the worst player on the pitch. I thought to myself 'Have we got one of them? Ah yes, we have and yes, he is the worst player on the pitch'.

Did anyone note that when we got Drury in GR said that 'he offers what we are missing on the right side'? Hopefully that also means that GR thinks Taylor is garbage. But you wouldn't think so given that he keeps getting a place on the bench and a run out.

We have got to start sorting our away form out otep three wins is not good enough, the reason, playing the long ball to a loan striker (zola) he works his socks off but needs bodies around him he flicks the ball on and has to chase it himself.Im happy with our position but just think we can do better.

I dont think hes any worse than Jimmy really in fact hes better than Jimmy. For me to bring that waster on yesterday was probably like holding up the white flag.I am not saying Taylor is a good player by any means but hes certainly not the worst player we have.I would think hes scored more goals than Jimmy.HAS HE. ??

I agree another waste of space should be out on loan both of them cant get past a defender or put decent balls into the box.

I am prepared to give Jimmy another chance believe it or not.

For all bar the first 12 games of his Brewers career in 2009 he has been rubbish. Lightweight, brushed aside with ease, can't cross, can't beat players and can't shoot.

Maybe he has the hunger now after being out so long. Maybe he has bulked out a bit. It is optimistic perhaps but let's see.

Cleveland? When I am at a game I always hope that our players do not pass the ball to him. You may just aswell give it to the opposition.

Well i wasnt even prepared to give him a contract Otep. For me Jimmy has had his chances and i believe hes only being given a bit part contribution because Gaz knows what a king sized mistake he has made putting him on that contract. The man is at best a conference player and thats pushing it.

It really, really annoys me when I see players who are clearly not up to it.

I am not in the football profession. I just watch it. When I see players who deliver absolutely nothing and keep getting a game I wonder what the Manager sees that I don't. They must know more than me about the game otherwise I would be the Manager.

We see.....x player failing to do xyz week in, week out and it is the equivalent of us playing with 10 men each time.

The Manager sees.....?

Agree with everthing thats been said so far.
Why didn't we have a go second half.
1500 people payed hard earned money to watch them play yesterday and some played with a couldn't careless attitude.
This is what i've been on about for weeks on here.
Total inconsistancy.
Rowett yesterday must be held responcible for yesterdays awful second half performance.
He surely set the team up to lose 2-0 as we only mustered 1 shot at goal all second half.
I commented over the christmas period about falling gates.
Many more performances like this and surely the most ardent fans will start to wonder again.
People won't pay to watch players that can't be bothered.
Agree with Ady1963 about Mansfield.
Was at the game and feel absolutly gutted for them.
Played with more passion than we have ever shown
Shame the cheat won the game for Liverpool.

Firstly enjoyed my day out and it was good meeting up with a couple of old buddies - Jason and Ian thanks for the beer!

Leicester were good, very good. Excellent squad of players who all looked as if they wanted it - at times they kept the ball so well I thought there was only one team on the pitch!!

Rowett has made some surprising team selections recently, this game was no different. Drury looks like he may grow into a decent player, but he is lightweight and will struggle with the everyday battle that is L2, need to give him time though so fingers crossed. Mags disappeared, McCrory was awful and McG I don't believe touched the ball the game just passed him by! Attitude looked poor, it was as if the whole squad knew we weren't goint to win so did nothing about it and as Pez says a lot of people paid a lot of money to go and support - sorely disappointing. Bringing on Taylor and Phillips baffling, neither are up for it and Billy and Pato must have been furious!!

Think the striker question will go on and on. Billy has been playing well, Calv is awesome, Paterson is back from injury yet GR decides to play Calv up against two of the best centre backs in the Championship - why? it was nothing more than hopeful hoofball to Calv who I really felt for.

Fans will not follow if this is the level of commitment from the manager and the team - that is worrying after the good start to the season we have had, so lets hope it is nothing more than a blip and we get the team selection, tactics and determination back against Torquay on Saturday. UTBs

Sadly i think the hoofball tactics are here to stay.
Football fans in general are very fickle when it comes to results.
Most aren't bother about performance as long as they win.
Sadly the hoofball tactics do work when we play someone up with Zola.
Its when he's missing the big problem occurs because they don't have another option.
Taking off Zola ( someone commented he was injured ) was a strange one especially as Kee was expected to play lone ranger which isn't easy against quality defenders although Zola seems to excel at it .
As i said before we could at least tried to have a go.
the game was realistacally over after 20 minutes.
Think we will see more of the same for the rest of the season.

We could at least tried to have a go........................Exactly!

Against York last week and against Leciester we went two down and did - nothing. Really felt in both games it was damage limitation rather than 'having a go'.

Calv needs either Kee or Paterson playing alongside him - I know we started with Calv/Kee and it didn't happen against York but in nearly all our 'good games' this season the Calv/Kee/Paterson partnership have been pretty successful, so lets get back to two up front please!!

Leicester fan in peace.

It's interesting to me that you all talk about your team's negative tactics - because that was precisely what surprised me watching the game. When we scored our second goal, I thought: They'll go 4-4-2 now. They have to: it's the FA Cup and it doesn't matter how much you lose by in that - you might as well try everything you can to win. So I was very surprised when you came back out in the second half playing 4-5-1 and amazed when you subbed Zola and continued playing 4-5-1. I understand Gary Rowett said afterwards that he was thinking at one point (something like): "Please don't score 8 or 9". So I agree with one of the points above that our 6-1 thrashing of Huddersfield a few days earlier might have influenced him. That doesn't make him right of course.

Still, I thought your players tried hard for you although we did keep the ball very well at times in the second half. I hope those of you who went didn't have too bad a day and I hope for all of you that your manager doesn't decide to sit on a 2-0 loss again this season. Best of luck!

We are as baffled as you Dungeon Master why we didn't have a go! Not an Albion fan at the game who didn't question our tactics and why we didn't change it up and the weird substitutions!

That said thought you guys were outstanding and showed the class that a team gunning for the EPL needs - Wood I think will be a fantastic signing for you.
