............................................tapping up deemed to be an illegal approach?
It seems Real Madrid are conducting a concerted campaign to try and unsettle Gareth Bale into leaving Spurs.
The latest suggestion from their President Florentino Perez is that Bale hands in a written transfer request.
This is so they can make formal contact and liaise with his agent. This tells me that they have possibly been in contact with Spurs and been told that GB is not for sale and no permission will be given to allow Real to approach the player.
To conduct business in the manner that Perez is doing shows GB that firstly Perez is without scruples and cannot be trusted.
So why is Perez doing this? Maybe he already knows they cannot get GB this year, but as the elections for Real Madrid Presidency are coming up, this will influence the supporters & others who vote the President in.
From my viewpoint, I think Daniel Levy should tell Perez he can stick the "special relationship" where the sun doesn't shine and put in a formal complaint to both the FA & Uefa.
So when is.................................

Afternoon Guys - As Chronic said they are not guilty of tapping up they are being down right rude and disrespectful they are a bunch of yobbos contrary to their self serving claim that they are the best Club in the World !!

That "Special relationship" claim always did look a bit one way to me. Club's like Real don't enter into so-called mutually beneficial relationships without having a hidden agenda.

Its not even just that its one way, its just totally pointless. We arent going to hand them players on a plate and Real Madrid are never going to give us an exclusive chance to sign one of their players, thats even if they wanted to come to us, and within our salary range.
Maybe it boosts our worth on the stock market or something but it certainly isn't worth the paper its written on for footballing purposes.

as far as i am aware the special relationship is nothing to do with on the pitch stuff, it is to do with marketing, networking and sharing player databases about young up and coming players across the world... real's is clearly much better than ours....
so basically if there are any advantages for us to the deal (which there must be of levy wouldnt have done it) then they wouldnt be apparant straight away as they are more to do with the future revenues of the club, and the ability to scout out prospects in the future

I doubt that there is any real 'relationship' anyway. I think it was announced primarily to cushion the blow of modric leaving

What I was getting at is that I don't think there is any substance to it. I'm sure they technically agreed something but I doubt it's anything of note. It just sounds good to release at the same time as letting a top player leave
