If you want to see a case of tapping up, look at what Madrid are doing with Suarez. They've reportedly already agreed personal terms with the play and they hav'nt even approached the club!
Madrid finished miles behind Barca'.
They are losing Mourinho.
Barca' have signed Neymar.
The Presidential elections are this year.
Usually this means they go nuts! Spend! Spend! Spend!
It's been their downfall for years, they never allow anyone to build a team.
you're spot on to bring up the election thing,he's making the noises the fans want to hear in Madrid.
this is how real and barca do business i'm afraid
Morning Genius
Frankly Real Madrid have become a joke club, far removed from the great club that graced European football in the 50s and early 60s. They are millions in debt and are continualy just trying to spend even more to buy the success they crave so much. Bale would be absolutely mad to even contemplate going anywhere near that circus.
What's that 'special relationship' rubbish all about anyway?
In the modern media based game this is inevitable. Perez hasn't done anything illegal unless he has contacted the player. Unethical? Sure, maybe but it's not really any different to how prem clubs sign players from more minor leagues, except this is very high profile and a little boisterous.
Anyway if this is all it takes to turn bales head( and he put in a transfer request because Perez mentioned he should) it says more about bale to be honest.
I actually think Bale is being very clever with this situation. I don't think he is committed to the idea of leaving and in all likelihood will stay around for at least one more season.
However he would obviously consider moving should a ridiculous offer be made to him. By getting his agent to encourage Real he can test the water without risking the anger of the Spurs fans should he not move. Bale has said nothing, not confirmed or denied what his agent said. As I said clever, he can see what's on offer without causing to much offense.
Levy should tell Perez to keep his big gob shut.
Like AmDram said the best thing we can do is keep quiet. Any statement from player or club will only as fuel to the fire.
Last thing we want is to be drawn into a battle of words. I suspect the price is beyond Madrid so they're using the media to try and lower it. Fact is though Bale is unique in world football at the moment, should the market open I would think the likes of PSG would blow them out the water.
And personally, if we got an 80m cash offer we'd be mad not to sell. No player bigger than the club
Its going to be a longgggg longggg summer.
Blb, I've renewed my season ticket and would love another season of watching bale but I make you right that if we were to get an offer of £80 million then we would have to take it.
Tapping up is an FA rule not a uefa rule. Therefore Real Madrid are breaking no rules.
Real Madrid are skint anyway, so relax fellas.
Afternoon Guys - As Chronic said they are not guilty of tapping up they are being down right rude and disrespectful they are a bunch of yobbos contrary to their self serving claim that they are the best Club in the World !!
That "Special relationship" claim always did look a bit one way to me. Club's like Real don't enter into so-called mutually beneficial relationships without having a hidden agenda.

I hate Real Madrid with a vengeance, I think Levy should come clean this is the third summer in a row we've had to put up with this sheeite
Some thing strange is happening - I agree with Sandy!! <worried>

Its not even just that its one way, its just totally pointless. We arent going to hand them players on a plate and Real Madrid are never going to give us an exclusive chance to sign one of their players, thats even if they wanted to come to us, and within our salary range.
Maybe it boosts our worth on the stock market or something but it certainly isn't worth the paper its written on for footballing purposes.
as far as i am aware the special relationship is nothing to do with on the pitch stuff, it is to do with marketing, networking and sharing player databases about young up and coming players across the world... real's is clearly much better than ours....
so basically if there are any advantages for us to the deal (which there must be of levy wouldnt have done it) then they wouldnt be apparant straight away as they are more to do with the future revenues of the club, and the ability to scout out prospects in the future
I doubt that there is any real 'relationship' anyway. I think it was announced primarily to cushion the blow of modric leaving

so the club has come out and told a total lie to the fans? i doubt that is true tbh.
What I was getting at is that I don't think there is any substance to it. I'm sure they technically agreed something but I doubt it's anything of note. It just sounds good to release at the same time as letting a top player leave
