Shame he went down the wrong path, people do forget and under rate Tyson badly though, in his prime he would have beaten anyone the guy was an absolute animal

What's mad about Tyson is his first 15 fights are only about 15 mins in total. That's some record even if he was fighting nobody's.

After cus d'amato died he began to slowly fall apart and lost the discipline he showed under cus in the ring. He didn't move his head as much, let his temper rule his head and became very unpredictable in what he might do in the ring.

All of this sullied his record and he lost to Douglas in Japan and because of this it's hard to place him up with the very best in the division.

Had cus not died and had say another decade with Tyson he could have been a great of the division, when he moved his head and feet so quickly coupled with the ferocious power he was a very dangerous fighter. For me a young Tyson would beat anybody today but may have found it harder to get inside wlad or vitalis long jab, he'd ko haye IMO but it would have been a very interesting fight but Tyson would have been too strong for haye.

Tyson when 22 years old would destroy anybody around today.

Cus knew about this but let Tyson get away with it because Tyson was his last shot at of having another heavyweight world champion.

Tyson was also out mugging and robbing when Cus was there.

Some casual fans think boxing is like football.

If some team is smashing a championship sides 10-0 and another team is just winning 2 or 3-0 It doesn't mean the side that was winning 10-0 would beat the side winning 3-0.

Styles make fights and you can look great against lesser opponents but step up a level or two and all those tricks don't work.

Robyn Givens, Desiree Washington and then firing Rooney is what finished Tyson.

Once Rooney left he stopped using combinations, his movement was poor and he just kept looking for one monster punch to close the show.

I know he wasn't respected but tyson has said loosing cus was a massive blow to him as a person as cus took him into his home and worked so closely with him every day.

I know there are plenty of other factors but cus was a huge influence on Tyson who's said it himself
