Best Midfield

Unless these teams meet before the semi-finals, one of them will win the Champions League due to simply having strong midfielders and could all of them get into the semi-final if they avoid each other.

..Arteta ..Ramsey/Wilshere...
.Walcott....Ozil......Cazorla.. ..

Schweinsteiger...Martinez..
.Robben.. .Gotze..Ribery.

..Basquets.....Xavi.....
.Iniesta...Fabregas....Neymar..

. ..Khedira...Modric
.Bale/Di Maria...Isco...Ronaldo.

Vote the strongest midfield
1. Bayern Munich
2. Arsenal
3. Real Madrid
4. Barcelona
5. Other team (which one)

Some players are injured such as Khedira, Schweinsteiger, and Walcott, but they will come back into the team anytime on the tournament.

Must have a very good memory to remember exactly how Walcott played in those games 2 seasons ago
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The point is, I can't remember how he played. Despite him playing. In all those other games I can remember the star players - he has had one decent game in the last two years when I've seen him in the flesh.

"Walcott is a waste of talent, he should have been world class, instead he's just a very average winger. Marginally better than Aaron Lennon, miles behind Andros Townsend."

Haha Can't believe I just noticed the last bit now. My God!

So you think he's made the best of his talent/potential, and is as good as Wenger thought he could be when he signed him? Walcott possesses/possessed all the necessary skills to be one of the world's very best attacking players - an English rival to Reus, Pedro, Isco etc - but he's nowhere near their calibre. He has wasted his potential, not worked hard enough, and one good 'statistical' season does not make him a good player. Grant Holt had a good season once.

Theo stats are

164 Games 36 Goals 33 assists thats 1 goal or assist every 2 games

16 Games 2 goals 0 assist

15 games 9 goals 6 Assists that a goal or assist a game

52 games 12 goals 10 assists thats a goal or assist in almost every 2-3 games

Total is 247 games for Arsenal 59 goals 49 assists overall that a goal or assist every 2-3 games.....not bad for a winger....

Compare that to the 'great' Gareth Bale who played 258 games and scored 64 goals and 37 assists which is less then compared to Walcott.....and played more games......

"I was laughing at the folly of criticising a player you lot would defend to the last man, I am never going to win even one of you over so there's no point in trying "

Who has defended Theo here? Not ONE of us thinks he is world class but he is an asset. The facts speak for themselves and he isn't as bad as you make out, certainly a step uk from Townsend/Lennon. You haven't put an argument forward on how you think Townsend is better? Takes more shots (average 5 per game in the PL this season with one goal) that seems his only attribute to me

Whoever said Bale was 'great'? I think he was over hyped as much as any Gooner. But let's not forget, Bale played a lot of games in his early Spurs career at LB. That will have skewed those figures quite a bit. And he played in a much worse side too.

Stats can be used to back up any argument. I'm a professional statistician myself so my job is to make my viewpoint statistically sound.

Townsend is more dangerous, and provides more to the Spurs team than Walcott does to the Arsenal or England sides. He has just as much pace, can beat his man, cuts inside more effectively, defends more, gets more shots on goal, and if there was a loose ball, you'd want him on it rather than Walcott.

That's not to say Walcott's bad, just that I believe Townsend to be the better player. And Aaron Lennon is less than worthless to a top 6 side, he's not even good enough for Albion let alone Spurs.

You can't dismiss the fact he takes 5 shots per game yet has only scored one league goal. I agree a tats don't tell the whole picture but you can't dismiss them I suit your argument. Theo has scored against some of the best teams in the world whilst Townsend has done nothing of note. Tom Ince and Zaha have impressed me more than him

I guess what he provides is frustration judging by how Spurs fans have been reacting to him of late. He most definitely provides nothing footballing wise.
I honestly still can't believe people are replying to you seriously.
