Reading v Huddersfield Town
Saturday 29th March 2014 at 3pm, Madejski Stadium
"The crowd were edgy and it was the first time I have felt that, but they have to stay with us because the players will stop passing it."
Mark Robins
Full name: Reading Football Club
Nickname(s): The Royals
Founded:1871
Ground: Madejski Stadium
Manager: Nigel Adkins
Reading’s most notable honours list:-
FA Cup: Semi-finalists 1927, Quarter Finalists 2010 2011
Football League Cup: Quarter-finalists 1996, 1998
Highest league finish: Premier League 2007, 8th Place
The highest transfer fee received for a Reading player is the £6.6 million 1899 Hoffenheim paid for Gylfi Sigurdsson on 31 August 2010. The most expensive player Reading have ever bought was Emerse Fae, who cost £2.5m from Nantes on 2 August 2007.
Reading are a recent Premiership club, being relegated last season. They have had three seasons, in total, in the last decade, in the Premiership, the rest have been in the Championship. I think it is safe to say that Reading are a bit like Town, in regard to not having too much to shout about in the last twenty years or so. Even Wikipedia, the source of my information, doesn’t have too much in absorbing details.
Nigel Adkins currently manages Reading, but he may too join the managerial merry go round, if he is unable to get them back to the Premiership. Reading are currently sixth, but really should have been top three for sure. Their current form has been quite indifferent, they have won a few, but also lost a few, does that sound familiar? They have dropped a number of points. Their home form is not too crash hot either, so Town do have a good chance of winning, if Robins sets them up correctly, like with two strikers up front!
Town were supposedly looking to hire Adkins when Lee Clark was shown the door. Would some Town fans look to gain Adkins services, if Robins was to leave? Adkins has been in charge of Reading for forty eight matches and his win ratio is currently 35.42%. As for Robins, he has now managed Town for fifty nine games and has a win ratio of 35.59%. So, the statistics indicate that Robins is edging it, just! Would any of you choose to have Adkins in charge, if the opportunity presented?
This game could be a draw, judging by both teams form. However, Reading will be desperate to make sure they secure a play off spot and will probably go for the win. Where as, our lads are desperate for the beach! However, I have a sneaky suspicion that Town will leave the Madejski Stadium with all the spoils. In fact, I’ve got a great feeling about this one, two nil to Town!

Trying and bluddy succeeding as well.
After all, he is still our second highest goal scorer this season with 7 league goals to his credit from his 35 appearances, mostly played out on the wing as a provider.
So stop knocking him for a change and look on the positives he brings to the team, because after all if he's missing chances, then that proves he's also getting in the right positions to convert them.

A couple of comedian-ettes
So hes not trying then ?
So he doesn't back track,
he doesn't score goals.
have lots of shots ???
So you'd get shut then,
Now the team in general.
As for 20 shots,
10 on target
1 goal..That can be, and should be improved upon.
Like I said
As long as those stats keep presenting themselves it shows we are attacking the opposition and the 'action' is at the right end of the field from a TOWN point of view.

In the Premiership, a lot of teams don't get many chances, so they have to be very effective in front of goal. Isn't the Premiership where we want Town to be. It can't be made a habit of not hitting the target, by which, I mean not just scoring goals. How many times have we nudged the person next to ourselves when Town have been pummelling the opponents goal and we have said, "Town 'll score soon", it's because they were hitting the post it bar, or a defender clearing the ball of the line. My point is, getting the ball on target often, usually results in goals, hence my gripe that the players aren't getting their shots on goal enough.
Darn, you're still a big girl's 👚! 😉

LV69, you don't half talk a load of rubbish. I agree with Mirf and Darn, Ward is class mate and he is been given grief for no need. He is just a bit unlucky. He just needs regular games and he will come good. 👍

That LV guy is a right thick at times
I'm fed up of telling him shots off target is something we can improve upon.
You might be surprised to know this Elegantly !!

"Class"
If he was class he'd already be tied to a longer contract.
Messi is class. He's class because he puts the ball in the net nine times out of ten.
Di Maria is class. He's class because he knows how to beat his marker and make it look easy.
Ozil is class. He's class because he spots runners and puts the ball on a plate for them.
So, inexplicably pasted, tell me how Danny Ward falls into the same category as above. I'll give you until December 2050 to come up with an answer.
