Give LVG time

Most people admit that SAF lef us with a poor squad, this was never going to be fixed overnight. Yes we have spent a lot of money, but how many of those players have actually played? Inuries have crippled us for the start of the season as well.

We have had a sustained peiod of dominance in the Premier league, but it is not our god given right to be in contention for the league (or top 4) every season. Other teams have seriously improved their squads & we are now the team that are playing catch up, it will take time. Will it be hard? Of course it will, but I'm confident we will get there.

Of course it will take time but at the same time there will be concern because I haven't really seen signs of improvement, however small.

The defence still look shaky and unwilling to move the ball into midfield.

The midfield are static and not offering support to either defence or attack.

Our wing backs aren't offering much.

The Mata, Rooney, RVP trio is not looking good.

Of course injuries are causing big problems with some of these points and I've no doubt thinks should improve BUT I can understand why some will be concerned about this lack of progress even if it's only 3 league games.

Why can't people have a balanced view, it always seems to be one extreme or the other. Can it not be both, it will take time but also we aren't seeing much in the way or improvements of understanding this system.

One positive, di Maria offered everything we expected from him, speed, directness, energy and quality.

I thought Di Maria looked great when he had the ball out wide.

I'm not sure but even if that is the case, we now have 1 but he was making his debut after being at the club for 3 days. We were never going to change the tactics at such short notice. We still would have struggled for a right back & left back today if we went for a back 4 today due to injuries.

I'm not sure but even if that is the case, we now have 1 but he was making his debut after being at the club for 3 days. We were never going to change the tactics at such short notice. We still would have struggled for a right back & left back today if we went for a back 4 today due to injuries.

Manutd1982, I thought my veiw was balanced, I'm dissapointed with the start we have made but always new it was going to take time to make so many changes.

I agree with your points, I only posted as I saw too many "we're sh/t" & "this is unacceptable" articles (paraphrasing of course)

With that being the option, I think even I would have played 3 at the back.

Someone posted an article last week about DDG not coming off his line & mopping up some of the through balls & I have to agree, he was poor at that again today which puts the defenders under unessasary pressure.
