Who bought the better striker between

Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U and Chelsea ?

With the amounts of strikers that have been sold this summer, we were linked with the majority of them.

Out of the 4 listed who got the best Striker this Summer?

Man U - Falcao - loan - £6M fee plus (£200-350K a week…still in dispute this) PROs: World Class player, Possibility of making the deal Permanent CONs: Just come back from injury, Not played in the PL, Possibly £16M for 1 year only

Chelsea - Remy -£8m - £100K a week? PROs: Quick, Knows the PL, Can score, Versitile along the forward line CONs: Is injury prone

Liverpool - Balotelli - £16M - £150K a week? PROs: Very good goalscorer, PL Experience CONs: Is known to be a handful, seems to upset most of the clubs he has been to

Arsenal - Welbeck - £16M - £100K a week? PROs: English, Fast, Versitile across along the forward line, PL expereinced CONs: Average goalscoring record (but due to playing on the left)

So who came through with the best signing.

I would have taken any of the 4 strikers mentioned above but think (and this is my opinion) we came out with the better deal based on finance, PL expereince and attitude.

I am no being biased, I did not want Falcao as even though he is one of the best in the world, he needs time to adjust, he may hit the ground running like RVN did for Man U but also the finance is very high. If they got him on a Permanent deal it would have been a fantastic signing. Not keen on loan deals, but he is a cracking player so I can see why they went for him but for the amount they have to outlay in the 1st year is quite a lot. I also rate Balotelli, I know he comes with baggage but he is a very good player, in truth I would say this is on par with us getting Welbeck, financially it’s the same as Welbeck, the only issue is his attitude. If Brennan can tame him, he will be their best signing since Suarez. With Remy I would have taken him, he reminds me of Henry, not as talented obviously, but his movement and how he likes to drift out wide and then cut in is reminiscent of our favourite Arsenal Legend, but I wonder why Liverpool rejected him, does he have some health problems or should I say potential? Or did Balotelli pop onto their radar and it was an excuse to not sign him? But as I have said I am happy with Welbeck, Cheap in today's market for an English International, only 24 and is strong and fast, worried slightly at his goal scoring record but as many Man U fans have said he played mainly wide and his scoring record during his strikers role is quite impressive (no stats on this though).

So who do you think got the best deal ?

And according to his calculations Arsenal will be paying Welbeck £5m for 4 yearsso that's £24k p/w and Costa at £12m wages for 4 years is £57k p/w
----------------------------------------------------------------------
based on my calculations Costa would earn 39m if he stayed the length of the contract. He's just a bit off
----------------------------------------------------------------------
bearing in mind its actually 5 years long anyay...

Assuming we go on £280 PW for 9 months is £21M plus £6M initial loan fee, thats £27M for 1 year only.

If you look at the others I mentioned

Remy £8M and probably on £100K a week for 4 years ? Thats £13M for his entire stay at Chelsea. Half what Man U have for 1 year

Welbeck was £16M and again £100K a week? thats £21M for his 4 years which again is less then the 1 year Man U have taken Falcao for.

Same for Balotelli.

Costa (which again I forgot to add in this thread originally) cost Chelsea £32M and if I am right £250K a week. Thats £44M for his 4 year stay. Thats less then double what Man U will pay for Falcao in ONE year.
------------------------------------

Deary me I have no clue where any of those calculations came from. It can't even be put down to a simple mistake as they're all way off by various amounts

Some interesting Maths going on here...

Falcao is just a strange one, obviously a class act. But at the cost it will be for a year, with the number of attacking options they have it seems as if surely this money could have been invested elsewhere

All top players on top wages cost money over a year

I think falcao is the best striker 'bought' this summer

Did anyone factor in currency exchange rate into Falcao's number? Surely in Monaco, they're using Euros...

If United is paying for Falcao's Monaco wages then that 265k GBP --> 335k Euros a week.

That's some of the best maths ever.
