Dominating CB

I thought we adressed this when buying Lovren, now it seems a different player we saw at the WC. Why not play our best center half Sakho, I don't think he'd do any worse than Skrtel (never been a huge fan) or Lovren. Last season I thought Sakho did great, Toure-Sakho from now on pls Brendan needs to swallow his pride. One word for our manager, I think he should be given more time for the way he made us play last season, best football I've seen us play since the 80's! And for those who want Rafa back and what seems a short memory but I remember countless boring stalemates we used to play without much cohisive passing or attacking flare. Put Sakho in for Lovren, Toure for Skrtel and Lucas for Gerrard. And buy a proper striker

One thing I am questioning after watching Monday night footy with Carra & Neville was that Lovren was good last season.

My question is why has Skrtel got away with it all. Agger, Carra, Lovren, Coates and Toure have all struggled alongside him.

Is Skrtel not the problem?

Yes, a big part of it. He instils panic amongst his fellow defenders. Just look at the start of the must win game against Basel and his first touch, hoofs it straight accross the box when under little pressure.

He might have looked decent in a mid table club but has failed to step up.

He did well at one mid table club but has failed at another mid table club.

Happens all the time.

I wouldn't want Rafa anywhere near our club!

He would clash with the owners over everything, yes we are in a crisis... But its all done behind closed doors.

The only thing for concern is that no one from the board have come out and publicly backed Rodgers ?

I've been kind of beting this drum for a while now, but I think a large part of the problem is the coaching the defense are receiving. In the premier league under Rodgers we are conceding an average of 1.25 goals per game. Thats with innumerable different players and formations at the back. Its just not good enough and suggests that defensive work is a big weakness of Rodgers

I am fine thanks. Shouldn't I be?

Don't think anyone's ever asked of my well being on here before. Feelign a little odd now.

I was expecting really good things from Lovren. Our new "leaders" performances have been borderline inept.

Not since the signing of Morientes and Kewell have I felt so let down.

He's been absolutely dreadful. Drops a sackful of bollox in every game he plays.

Sakho and Toure deserve more playing time, given our defensive woes.

I think our best defender is Toure believe it or not

Skrtel has his solid games but he's a yard dog - you could have guessed that after his debut against Havant and Waterloo.

Lovren has been underwhelming to say the least and Sakho's like Frank Bruno in shorts.

Too many powerhouses and not enough brains in our defence.

I think it has to be Toure and Sakho until the dust settles...

Lovern is still one for the future.
