I hope no one minds but i wanted to share with you a poem that was written by an anonymous (I think) father after Hillsborough about the loss of his son. It was pusblished in a book of poems (that i still read to this day) written by people who were affected by the tragedy and released 2 weeks after it took place. Please indulge me today and have a read.

No more tears to shed, my son, too late
For those who pass the Shankly Gate.
For when I was a lad my father said
'Come along son and be a Red.'
And there we stood proud and strong
Father and son in the Anfield throng.
No more tears to shed, my son, too late
For those who pass the Shankly Gate.
For now I am a man and a father too
And like the old fella, I took along you.
And there we stood side by side
Your soppy old dad, eyes filled with pride.
No more tears to shed, my son ,too late
For those who pass the Shankly Gate.
For when you closed those eyes at night
I'd smile a smile of the true Kopite.
Now all I have left is the scarf you wore
The red and white of the times before.
No more tears to shed, my son, too late
For those who pass the Shankly Gate.
For in our hearts you are still here
To sing the song of yesteryear.
And remember it was me who told of that Bill Shankly, lad.
Do me a favour son ?
Tell Bill Shankly about your Dad.

It reminds me so much of my own dad and im sure lots of fans of other clubs could change the name/team and relate to it. Now imagine being this man and spending 23 years fighting lies and slurs...thats why this is so important.
Id like also to thank all fans of other teams who have shown support on this subject. It looks like we can put our tribal nature aside and its clear that we are not the hooligans people like to portay us as.
Thank you JFT96 YNWA

That's awesome (if something relating to such a tragedy can be described as such). Thanks for sharing Scouse Heart.
I was too young to understand what a tragedy this was at the time, but I hope to never see its like again.
