I have 4 older friends who survived the crush in the LL end. None of them have ever gotten over it. 3 never married or has kids, they all had counselling and all drink heavily. We get together and occasionally and they speak about the guilt they feel for surviving or that they couldn't help save the people below their feet etc. It has pretty much ruined their lives.

i dont think anyone with an ounce of common sense portrays you as hooligans scouse.

i admit to being Naive to the facts up until a few years ago when T Bone brought me up to speed with a few things.

as a united fan growing up ( i would have been about 9 at the time) i remember seeing it on TV and thinking, look at those idiots invading the pitch.

obviously as time has gone on you get a bit wiser with age, and although i knew that there was a cover up of sorts ( i say of sorts as at this point i was still naive to what actually went on).

T Bone was kind enough to give me a more in depth account of what went on that day, and as a parent i cant imagine how it must feel to pack your kid off to a football game and never have them return, or wave one of your parents off, not knowing you will never see them again.

My deepest condolences go out to the families of the victims, and those who had to witness those tragic events unfold, something which must haunt them on a regular basis.

hopefully this whole JFT96 can come to an end sooner, rather than later so people can get some form of closure.

Really touching poem, as I'm sure the rest are in the book you read.

As a father, I can relate. May those from the top down involved in the cover-up, be convicted and punished accordingly, in this life or the next

Sorry forgot to make my point.

All 4 of them really struggle with the snidey remarks and accusations. Even the uneducated spouting inaccuracies causes pain. It's time other fans listened to the evidence coming out of the inquest!

Taggs- I completely understand your anger and frustration, however today I just focus on the memory of those lost and leave the rest for tomorrow. Not in anyway disrespecting your feelings just explaining howI deal with today personally.

Dunc- very honest of you and if a few more would be as honest at their own naviety as you put it then I think more people would begin to understand.

Cheers

As I stated above most true football fans have nothing but sympathy.

Can't think of anything worse than losing a child, even just the thought of it scares the hell out of me, how anyone could mock such a thing shows they've never been a parent, or just sick in the head.

That's awesome (if something relating to such a tragedy can be described as such). Thanks for sharing Scouse Heart.

I was too young to understand what a tragedy this was at the time, but I hope to never see its like again.
