Carl Jenkinson

The boy has just secured another season long loan, this time at Sunderland.

Do we think he has a future at Arsenal? I sure hope he does because he absolutely adores the club and is very decent. He should be the first choice right back there so hopefully he can learn a thing or two there.

Sunderland are a good club. Hopefully under advocat they play good football next season.

West ham probably want a permanent rb.

Bad move. Never going to be good enough for Arsenal. Never gonna want to sit on our bench and deputise for a kid. Should sell him when his stock is relatively high.

He is now 23? If West Ham don't think he was good enough to pursue keeping him for a another season then that does tell its own story. At Arsenal there have been moments where he has shown he is good but then the bad moments have often been more in the spot light. Mainly because the mistakes he's made are so amateur. I don't think he is good enough to provide a good challenge to either Bellerin or Debuchy. Unless he's happy at being a second a string RB.

WHU were interested but it looks like the deal with Sunderland was already in place.

I don't see why his stock can't get higher with a loan move to Sunderland.
Advocaat is a very good manager, and with the paucity of quality English right-backs - particularly if Kyle Walker continues his poor-form following injury - there's a reasonable chance he could break back into the England set-up if he has a good season.

He's still got 3 years left on his contract - with rumours that he's going to extend that - so it's not like we're going to lose much value from his contract reaching expiration.
The loan move just keeps our options open a little longer.

Has this been confirmed by arsenal or Sunderland? Last I heard he turned them down as he wants to stay in London and we are still working on it!

Not officially - a lot of reports though.

How did you think Jenkinson did for you last season, if you don't mind me asking? Did he impress much?

If he goes on loan it should be back to West Ham not Sunderland. Advocaat WAS a good manager. He did a decent job with Sunderland but be is still unproven imo. West Ham are bigger and better than Sunderland and will play attacking football under Bilic.

I agree - I'd prefer West Ham. However, if they choose not to pursue him, I don't see the problem with Jenkinson having a loan spell at Sunderland,.

He's snubbed Sunderland anyway, wants West Ham apparently.

Wonder if there was anything to the L'pool interest, would be a great move, he has the engine to play in their wing-back system, unsure of the skill though.

Probably a non-story but given their preference for English talent wouldn't be surprised.
