Now onto under the radar games !

Ok So we had the games.series that we never got into.

Now lets see what games guys have played over the years that are lwer key that would have slipped under most peoples radars as being an awesome game.

Perhaps it was import, indie or niche etc. for whatever reason it wasnt either a big seller or as popular as it should ahve been.

I will start it off with Parasite Eve. Sqauresoft RPG turn based very similar gameplay to FF series and you could really tell. Much darker and grittier tho, great storyline was defo different. Was an import for the PS1 dont think it was ever released in Europe?

Another was MAG (Massive Action Game), Sony's own massive FPS on PS3 128 guys on map didnt do well on release and wasnt well marketed at all, after they ironed out most of the bugs it was great, nice and tactical but at the same time there were times were there are just massive scraps !!

I always thought Micro Machines was quite well known. On the other hand, I owned Micro Maniacs on the PS1 which was a fantastic game but to me, it seemed to be a much less well known game

Had a few down the years-

Kurushi (from ps1 demo)

Driver San Francisco (the hills made for great chases etc)

Gun (ps2 version of Red dead for me- nasty in places buf very fun)

John madden footall on megadrive

The Suffering on ps2- Anyone that has played this game will know it. Very clever and the fact that you madd your own destiny and history of the character was very good.

I think though that there is a huge wave of indie games now but only people that play alot actually enjoy them. Yoo many kids get over excited for the next game in a franchise when in reality its just like a new DLC than an really new game.

Simon - losing a long post has made want to rage quit this site many times.

Anyway as for the article, was MAG like a huge success in Japan? I will give you the main reason it wasnt a success in the west.

It required team work.

You werent going to get anything done trying to go lone wolf. Actually to start you basically had to be a medic and sit back trying to earn xp by reviving your teammates. Westerners had that sorta thing. Anyway, not under the radar for me just not what our modern warfare run n gun gaming culture wanted.

The first Infamous for the PS3 was one hell of a good game. I'm not sure if it was really "under the radar" but hardly anybody talks about it.

Didn't everyone get that as their free game when the ps network went down.

It's an odd sort of game.

I loved it when I was playing it, thought it was great

Never revisited once I had completed it though, just couldn't be bothered with it once I had finished.

Zero desire on the replayability front

Yeah, once you own the city there isn't a whole lot to do other than complete achievements. It's only the 2nd game I've ever got 100% of the trophies for, as they were actually fun to complete. I've played it once since, for about 5 minutes.

For free it was certainly a good deal.

Would the new Tomb Raider be classed as under the radar? It was up against some really big boys like TLOU and if I was to be honest it was my game of the year Vs the likes of GTA V and TLOU
