Can we attract a penalty box striker?

The need for a clinical finisher is evident, I just feel that we will struggle to attract that type of player with the way we play.

Another thing that I don't get is the insistance of playing a left footed winger on the right and a right footed winger on the left. Cutting inside is all well and good but it should be an option not the rule as there are always more players inside.

I was a bit disappointed in Halliday at the weekend, I thought he would have been free to attack the 6-yard box a lot more as Ball offers more assurance at the back but he just didn't seem to be driving forward as much as I thought he would. Jason Holt is excellent and Tavernier once again looked back to his best and was really unlucky with his rocket which on another day would have found the inside of the post. Barry McKay is a real talent and he will develop further in the seasons to come but I feel he would be better on the right using his pace and whipping balls into the box...

I am encouraged by Danny Wilson's recent form and he is finally showing some of the form he showed with Hearts last season. Our defence over all looks really solid and Foderingham is making good decisions (still looks shaky at times with crosses) and making good saves on a regular basis.

I'm not sure there'll be the budget to get a clinical striker. Front 3 seems to be Mckay, Waghorn and O'Halloran going forward and I do think that they'll be good enough to get enough goals to push for European places. Obviously cover will be needed especially as Kenny Miller is getting on, Clark is probably gone and Forrester is still to get fully fit and show what he can do.

I still maintain a quality defensive midfield will do so much for Rangers going forward. Halliday has done well but can push on a bit too much to support that he leaves occasional gaps. A good defensive mid in games Rangers are controlling will help recover the ball quicker and in turn keep sides pinned in.

I'd love a clinical striker too but feel the holding mid is absolute priority in the summer.

Agreed that lafferty probably would do a good job in this team. His being a bit of a banger should keep Warburton from looking to get him in though.

Hahaha. I don't think there's any danger that he'll return. As I said his personality should keep Warburton from being interested, his wages and reaction from a lot of the support kill it also.

On a side thought, what is it with Northern Ireland strikers being exceptional for the national team but largely average at club level? Him and Healy just makes no sense. It's like they hired a stunt double for club games.

Miller, Crooks is signed up for the summer he will be the dm and also Windass, the squad will get a lot smaller with the likes of Shiels, Templeton, Clark and possibly law leaving. Also Zelalem Ball and King will go back to their respective clubs there will be a need for reinforcements.

That is 6 out and 2 in so far, Cammy bell could be another one to go, I don't see him wanting to sit on the bench, so it will be a busy summer for us, hopefully warbs and McParland can find another couple of gems.

Regarding O'Halloran do we rate him that highly? I really haven't seen enough of him TBH.

I'd actually forgot all about crooks gio.

Clark Bell Templeton I think will definitely go. Law and Shiels maybe out too. And loans Zelalem and Ball return. I have a feeling though that king is in audition stage like Forrester and has a possibility to stay longer.

But yes, a few larger wages of backup and unwanted guys is probably getting trimmed down.

The squad seems like it will be too thin in the summer with loans and contracts expiring, would be happy to see Zelalem and Ball come back for next season though.

I trust in Warbs though, and hopefully he continues his good eye in a player to help us improve for a crack at the top tier.
