I can understand why he plays McKay on the left and Waghorn on the right. When they cut inside it lets the full backs overlap or underlap which causes teams problems. If you look at the fact our full backs have scored and created over 30 goals between them this season then it clearly works.

Well, surely if the full back is doing that they could still do it with the winger also having the option to hit the bye line. A ball can still be played inside to an underlapping full back regardless, it's just that there seems at times to be no other option so defenders know what is going to happen and most of the time is it blocked off, this is one of the failings in the final third and is fairly obvious to me but, yes, I am not a football manager...

I actually understood hibs stance on Allan.

It would be different next season assuming we are both promoted or hibs get left behind

Only way I see Cummings being an option is if Rangers offer something ridiculous or if Hibs fail to come up.

I'd take him no problem though.

If he became available though he would have plenty of options and I don't see Rangers being high on his priority list in terms of where he would want to go.

Plus Celtic would probably come in and try and sign him just to stop us getting him.

Yeah I think getting priced out would be the issue more than anything.

The Allan situation was different as promotion prospects would have been directly affected so I understand the way they approached it.

Jelavic would have been perfect for this team, he would score a barrow load IMO not an option now though but someone in his mould would be great! (wishful thinking)

Wonder what sort of cash he is getting offered in China. Apparently they are outbidding EPL teams with ease

Lafferty would score a barrowload of goals in that team.

Wouldn't let Lafferty apply for a season ticket never mind in the team.

I'm not sure there'll be the budget to get a clinical striker. Front 3 seems to be Mckay, Waghorn and O'Halloran going forward and I do think that they'll be good enough to get enough goals to push for European places. Obviously cover will be needed especially as Kenny Miller is getting on, Clark is probably gone and Forrester is still to get fully fit and show what he can do.

I still maintain a quality defensive midfield will do so much for Rangers going forward. Halliday has done well but can push on a bit too much to support that he leaves occasional gaps. A good defensive mid in games Rangers are controlling will help recover the ball quicker and in turn keep sides pinned in.

I'd love a clinical striker too but feel the holding mid is absolute priority in the summer.

Agreed that lafferty probably would do a good job in this team. His being a bit of a banger should keep Warburton from looking to get him in though.

Hahaha. I don't think there's any danger that he'll return. As I said his personality should keep Warburton from being interested, his wages and reaction from a lot of the support kill it also.

On a side thought, what is it with Northern Ireland strikers being exceptional for the national team but largely average at club level? Him and Healy just makes no sense. It's like they hired a stunt double for club games.

Miller, Crooks is signed up for the summer he will be the dm and also Windass, the squad will get a lot smaller with the likes of Shiels, Templeton, Clark and possibly law leaving. Also Zelalem Ball and King will go back to their respective clubs there will be a need for reinforcements.

That is 6 out and 2 in so far, Cammy bell could be another one to go, I don't see him wanting to sit on the bench, so it will be a busy summer for us, hopefully warbs and McParland can find another couple of gems.

Regarding O'Halloran do we rate him that highly? I really haven't seen enough of him TBH.
