Zim off to a great start!
What's happening to Test cricket? So many teams are so poor now it's ridiculous!
No1 turns up to games unless it's a big event & people aren't really that interested anymore... Shame really as i love the sport

Also, not sure why misbah didnt bowl hafeez more in the first innings......

i would put more down to zimbabwe's lack of test match experience showing than pakistan waking up, but all credit to pakistan, and hafeez in particular they have bowled well.
zimbabwe's only hope now is to try and hang on and hope that they run out of time, but this is very unlikely, and i can only see 1 result coming, a deserved victoru for pakistan.

Pakistan need to chase 88. SHOULD be no trouble but this is Pakistan we are talking about.

won by 7 wickets........
middle order still abit of concern for me, we have too many players who are on the slow-side and when it comes to upping the score rate, just freeze.... Im thinking younis on day 3 and the way we played out for a draw against saffers last year in UAE.....
Anyways, win is a win is a win................................

Afridi YK is getting slower and slower by age and like you said on these slow tracks in UAE and Sri Lanka he will be unbearable but still i would rather have him in the team than the likes of Farahat, Hameed and Malik getting more bites at the cherry.

Dont get me wrong, i dont want him out of the team, hes class - just saying he needs to "up it" abit at times.... Malik, im glad hes not in and im sure most of the dressing room is...... the others 2 wont be seen again for pak....

most akistan batsmaen from history have been stroke makers, who like to play their shots, but are not neccesarily concerned with batting out the day. the exceptions to this are batsmen who have done really weel (younis khan, mohammed yousuf) who might go a bit slowly, but they will get you there.
i don't think that pakistan need more stroke makers who can up the pace, but more batsmen like yousuf and younis who can be relied upon to bat sensibly and win test matches.
you only have to look at their averages to see what i mean. yousuf and younis both average in the 50s, whereas stroke makers like umar akmal and kamran akmal average in the 30s.

Good win considering the match was on its way to a draw.
Not only that Pakistan have now won 2 of their last 3 test SERIES! (lol)
Hopefully it will boost their points in the rankings table & fulfill the dream left by the late Bob Woolmer & make Pak No.1 Test in the World.
(Well one can dream but its just that a dream)
