Can we really call this a bottle Job?

Look, I know a certain level of application and leadership has been missing throughout the team in the last few weeks but lets not kid ourselves about the quality of this team. If anything the only reason why we are still in this title race is because for parts of November and December when injuries hit us hard, we showed great resolve to grind out results.

There is great spirit within this group, may not be at Leicester City levels but they are a committed bunch that only lack leadership on the pitch. The kind of leadership that requires players to find solutions on the pitch when Plan A is not working. Cech has provided that at the back even though we still concede stupid goals but its the scoring part that's been our biggest problem all season.

We have been poor in front of goal.Like Spurs we are not direct enough and we are wasteful in front of goal. That is in direct contrast to Leicester City who are very direct and attack with purpose. At some point the constant passing and not taking shots was going to hurt us and we see it now.We are unraveling because our natural style of play does not consistently breakdown the opposition and once they suss us out we run out of ideas. When you couple all that with the fact that our main match winner (X factor player) Sanchez is dreadfully out of form then you have the problem we are currently faced with.

The last 2 weeks have exposed Wenger more than any in the last few seasons and ultimately if and when title favourites Leicester win the title he will have no where to hide. He put faith in players who arent good enough, he adopted a patient build up style that is foreign to him so that he could accommodate inferior players and now its hurting him. Wenger has traditionally always been about fast passing and having a go at the opposition.

His grand plan has failed spectacularly. Injuries, lack of funds, whatever excuse he can look to use is ultimately null and void. The team looks lost like Mourinho's last days, no clue which way to go or how to play.

To be frank even if we did gather some form Im afraid Leicester is better than us and the rest. They have some tough games at the end but they will see off the next 7 comfortably.

Spurs have been great but they have some tough fixtures against Chelsea and Liverpool who will almost certainly beat them as they aren't that great against the really top teams who are up for it. They have been great against the lesser clubs and will probably continue to be but they arent a better team than Leicester so cant see them win the league.

I'm afraid Leicester will in all likelihood win this title and that sets up Wenger and the team for a massive fall.

Sad state of affairs as I feel for Wenger. He had good intentions but has gone about things the wrong way.The players ave let him down but he bought them so must take the blame.

When your team is playing badly it might be prudent to rotate, that worked especially well earlier in the season with Walcott and Giroud.

Look at the quality of our squad though, even considering injuries, we have little quality competition for most of our first choices. Who's pushing Ramsey right now? Alexis? Bellerin? Giroud? The only place with any realistic competition is Coquelin and Flamini and that's more-or-less laughable. We have Iwobi coming on to try and get us level against United. It's not like he's been a revelation like Rashford was.

It's up to the manager to motivate players and part of that includes some basic competition for places. It does not include defending how badly you played by saying we were unlucky with finishing.
