disgusting habit. Imagine the amount of bacteria (and mucus) these 'superstars' unleash on the lawn, then, they go slide in it.

What about the guys that unleash the contents of their nasal passages on the pitch?

OP, what do you want... footballers to carry handkerchiefs in their back pockets? This is a man's game so stop underminding it. What you advocate is the thin end of the wedge which will start with yellow cards for spitting and end in players wearing makeup and false eyelashes on the pitch etc You seem to be a product of the modern society where everything has to be 'PC'. Grow up.... grow a pair!

No one is offended by it. Why would you be offended?

But why do they have to do it? It's disgusting, unless they have a cold or something, there's absolutely no reason to do it.

I am a big fan of NBA because they never spit despite playing a more physical game than football.

Obviously some people have never played sport...

I play footy and run a lot, i spit all the time beacuse the mucus is too thick to swallow.

I've never heard anyone complain up until now.
