A change has been suggested, shaking up the Football league to a 20 team per league, 5 league structure as opposed to the current 24 x 4.

Thoughts on the change?
On one hand there is less fixture congestion, less Tuesday night matches, which are both good. Also, with the postponements that do happen from time to time, it would mean that there isn't such a pile up for some clubs come the end of the season.
However, 3 less home games is a big financial loss... for Pompey, for example, at 17,000 tickets (average gate) at £20 per ticket, that is £340k revenue per match, over 3 matches that's a million quid before matchday sales...

You couldn't even work it out on merit.
top 20 teams in Championship go into Tier 1.
bottom 4 Championship teams and top 16 in League 1 into tier 2
bottom 8 In League 1 & top 12 in League 2 into tier 3
bottom 12 in league 2 & top 8 from National League into tier 4
This would cause resentment in some club chairmen who would argue that they deserve to be in ???? league because they are traditionally a top half team and their current position at the time of the change is a blip.

But As I said in my following comment there would be bickering by some chairmen who will always feel they are being hard done by.
