Once again our defence has cost us...
I don't understand the signing of Klavan if he is gonna be behind a midfielder in the pecking order? Regardless of what's happened, we missed Matip and Sakho.
Also I think Karius hasn't done enough to stay first choice keeper imo, with mig looking good when he has played.
Klopp has some tough decisions to make... I was worried about this game tbf, but I was worried about our offence, where it was naive defending which cost us in the end

I think karius is average ..
decent shot stopper..but distribution ,kickouts and high balls on top of him are a serious issue..

Would love to see van Dijk in January.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Van Dijk is to Saints now as Lovren was to them a few years ago. Not saying he can't make this step up, but I feel like we should start signing more players who are proven at Champions League-standard sides. Though obviously I'm aware that such players don't come cheap.

Matip was a.massive loss, but for me the game changed when Mané went off.
The fact is without Coutinho, Matip, Mané and a rusty Lallana coming on, we are not the same team.
It's a bad result. Origi (his goal aside) was poor imo. Lovren has had a decent season but looked lost without Matip's calming influence beside him and the less said about Karius' performance the better.
One result isn't going to derail our season, but without our best players on the pitch, the fragility quickly surfaced again, which is disappointing.

Again, same old story. Bluster and misguided belief gives way to the inevitable reality that a Liverpool team won't get near the title because of a lacking defence.

Shiiite happens. The better team won. Our weak spot? For me, Karius. "Dear Simon, please come back, all is forgiven ..."
Not the end of the world. Conte has got Chelsko firing, no question. For me, after eight wins on the bounce, they are formidable.
It seems that, when all is well, all is very well. The slightest sign of upset, challenge, they fall apart. They are too fragile to be PL winners.

I'd go as far as to say that Mignolet and Karius are the two worst keepers in the league.

Karius did make the same mistake that De Gea made last week for the 4th goal. All keepers make those mistakes but the way he let the 2nd goal in was more concerning. That was a routine save and he barley landed a finger on the ball.

I generally don't dwell on results too long anymore, but yesterday is a hard one to take as from 1-3 up wit 20 mins left you simply have to win that game.
But still it's one loss in what 15 games or so? It's not the end of the world or a serious dent in our aspirations this season as long we we react in the right way at home to West Ham.
The reaction to Burnley was like 5 wins on the spin or something, so let's hope we see somethign similar.
Hope to see Studge back ASAP to bolster the attacking options.

We would have won the game with Matip. I'm sure of that.
The manner in which we play however is always going to occasionally produce these kind of losses. We just have to bounce back now.
We're still having a great season so far. We shouldn't feel too disheartened.

The big thing now is how the players react. We need to win the next 3 (all very winnable) before the City game to get the momentum back.
